Ron C., from TripAdvisor, says:
This property is the most congenial and well kept resort in the Southeast. The family atmosphere of the entire staff is something to enjoy. You will especially like the daily programs that are scheduled around the pool. The children as well as adults will enjoy all the activities. It's a resort that includes that entire family. Excellent experience. Try it out.

Don't miss the Village. We almost did and that would have been a shame. It is a delightful place to relax, sightsee, shop and dine. The golf course is amazing, and I will write a separate review for that great amenity! The skateboard park just a block away from the resort kept our exchange student occupied him for many, many hours.

Make sure you take the trolley tour of the island, well worth the $22 for a 90 minute history tour of the island. An also must see is Jekyll Island - take a self-guided walking tour around the Jekyll Island Hotel historic area and see how the other half - "Men with Means" - lived in the early 1900's.

St. Simons Island is perfect. The little village is lovely with small shops and lots of individually owned places to eat. The downtown pier is a gathering spot for locals and tourist. It is a long, covered pier with benches built on the sides for people to sit and relax or sit and fish. We actually took our bikes and rode bikes everywhere we wanted to do. We never touched the car after we got there! Lots of bike trails and sidewalks to use. People are friendly and very laid back here. You will notice it is more "real" people and locals rather than all tourists. This must be a great place to live too! Go to St. Simon's and stay at the King and Prince and I promise you will not be disappointed!!! I am already checking to see if we can manage to go back again this summer? We just got home last night!!!

Marie, from TripAdvisor says:

What a lovely resort to stay at on St. Simons Island, especially during unpredictable March weather! Although it rained on two of the 3 days I stayed there, I could at least take advantage of their indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, both of which are located in the lobby, but the lobby is huge and beautifully decorated. The "made to order" omelets and the Georgia Peach Melba Strudel at the breakfast buffet were excellent. I stayed in Room 373 in the Oceanfront Building, and it was on a floor high enough to have a good and an unobstructed view of the ocean, even while lying in bed! There are sliding glass doors which open to a balcony, so I could hear the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline during the night. And the village is about a couple minutes drive away. Don't miss Southern Soul Food restaurant on corner of Demere and Frederica - great BBQ chicken and ribs (and collard greens)!

We love to come to Saint Simons Island and stay at the King and Prince. My husband and I had our honeymoon at the King and Prince 17 years ago and have brought our boys to vacation here also. The smell of the marshes, the beautiful moss draped oaks, the history, and the beauty of the ocean bring us back every time. ... The King and Prince have the beauty and relaxation of a great Southern Resort along with the hospitality that keep us returning to make family memories. I love the smiles on our children's faces when we come and stay as they play in the sand and dream....

My husband is from Georgia and he and his immediate family vacationed at the King and Prince when he was young . . . we returned most summers with his parents and siblings as a newly married couple, and through the years with new additions to the family - our three daughters. The resort is on the lovely island of St. Simon's is comfortably elegant, family friendly and provides activities for all - tennis, golf, workout room, beautiful pools, jacuzzis, fabulous food at the restaurants, and employees who are professional, personable and always willing to do everything they can to make a vacation exactly what a vacation should be - a time to relax, regenerate, and create special memories that last a lifetime.
