Rob C., from Georgia Golf Trail, says:
We thoroughly enjoyed this golf course. The setting was magnificent on the back nine set against the beautiful marsh. The greens were our favorite part of the course. I do not remember the type of greens but they were very true and had a good speed to them, probably a 10 1/2. They held very well on approach. The course was well maintained. Fairways were a little firm but got decent divots. We liked the practice area as well. Having an area to chip with bunker near the range really helps.
We did not stay at the hotel, but we went over to the hotel and had dinner at their Echo Restaurant and enjoyed the experience. We looked around at their lovely inside of the resort and walked outside to the pool area. We would love to stay here in the future and see why you recommended it so highly.
We will tell our other golfing buddies back in SC about the King and Prince.,

Rick, My wife, son and I recently stayed at the King and Prince and played at your course. The entire experience was GREAT you and your staff were wonderful. The resort was great as well. I would like to thank you and your staff for helping to make our ladies away trip such a success! Your course is in beautiful condition and a challenge for two days of golf. The layout makes it challenging enough that I’m sure your members never tire of playing it. I look forward to playing it again in the future! The clubhouse looked so fresh, clean, and inviting! Everyone was commenting on the fall decorations and how they made us feel so welcomed. The pro shop and food service were friendly and very helpful.
Rick, you have a special personality and a way about you that makes people feel important. I really appreciate all the extra efforts that you took to make sure that everything went smoothly. I will definitely cast a vote toward returning to your club for future golf outings!
Bill T., from guest letter, says:
Thank you so much for all you do to provide such a special venue for our trip. I also want to give a special thanks to Julie, Kaitlin and Jamie for all of their help in coordinating this annual event.
I’m not sure who to thank specifically, but I want the staff at the K&P. . .The overall experience of the resort and great golf course is what has kept us coming back for 20 years. We cannot wait to see you all next November.
Best regards and a Happy Thanksgiving to All!
Paige M., from guest letter, says:
Thank you so very much for all of your assistance with our recent Cocktails and Croquet event. We appreciate all the cooperation and dedication exhibited by you and your staff in helping us put this event together. The setting was ideal, and the croquet courts received rave reviews from our guests. We also heard lots of positive comments regarding the bartenders and the food. In fact, we are already receiving inquiries about next year. Thanks again for everything and look forward to working with you again next year.

If you play golf, go play the King and Prince golf course ($79 for guests) and the hotel will take you and pick you up. Was the most beautiful course I have ever played...especially the three holes surrounded by the marsh. Make sure to ask your driver about the house on the 10th fairway.
Nom & Lynette, from Guest Comment, say:
We played golf at K&P for two months each of the past two years. Rick and his staff were most accommodating and treated us as members. The course was in great shape, the greens are perfect, albeit challenging. The course is unique in layout, particularly the holes in the marsh. Don't miss the cheeseburgers in the clubhouse.
Jack N., from Guest Letter, says:
Hi Rick, We had a couple of 4-somes out last Friday and I can't thank you enough for how we all were treated. From getting us off on the back 9 a few minutes early, to coming out and picking up one of our guests on #17 so he could be sure and make his flight, everything was top notch. I have been playing golf for 40+ years and I can honestly say I do not ever recall receiving the hospitality and personal touch you provided ANYWHERE, and that includes many top 100 and prestigous private clubs. Thank you for the memorable experience at the Hampton King & Prince.
Clark C., from Guest Letter, says:
Rick Mattox: I want you to know that your golf course is absolutely fantastic. I have been coming to St. Simons for 10 years and playing your course. I have never played on better greens than those that you all have now and I mean never. They were smooth and rolled true on all 18. I plan on bringing 3 of my friends down in April from Texas and I cannot wait to tell them how good the course and greens are and what they can expect. Keep up the good work.
Tenia W., from Guest Letter says:
Dear Rick Mattox (General Manager, The King and Prince Golf Course):
On behalf of the Georgia Golf Course Superintendents' Association, and all those who participated in the 2012 Georgia GCSA Golf Championship at The King and Prince Golf Course, I would like to thank you for hosting our members. The tournament was deemed a tremendous success and we certainly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to assist with the event. You, your staff and the entire club staff were all very gracious hosts.
The King and Prince Golf Course is a beautiful facility and the golf course was magnificent. I heard many favorable comments about the golf course and the dedication that Chuck and his staff have put forth to ensure that the course is one of the finest in the State. Needless to say, everyone had a wonderful time.
One of the main objectives of our Association is fellowship through conferences, seminars and golf outings. We appreciate your help in bringing us closer to this goal. I would also like to thank you for your support to Chuck and his staff. They are certainly hardworking individuals and are great assets to the Georgia GGCSA
Again, thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do for our association.
Sincerely, Tenia W., Executive Director
Steve W., from TripAdvisor says:
I had read on Trip Advisor that the staff is exceptionally friendly; I heartily agree. We played a round of golf, and although the course is a 20 minute drive (from the Resort), it was absolutely worth it. Three of the holes are "islands" in the marshes. Beautiful! (Dad, Mom and two kids in their twenties.)
Ken S., from Post-Conference Evaluation says:
It was probably the best outing our golf group has ever had. We hope to return next year.
Anthony G., from Guest Review says:
The King and Prince Golf Course was a beautiful, extremely well-maintained golf course. I enjoyed the game - it was challenging and fair at the same time. I will certainly play this course the next time I visit St. Simons.
Chris B, from Guest Review says:
I played your course this past Saturday, and simply had to write you all a message...such a great experience. We were greeted in the pro shop by Damien, who was just wonderful. Six of my college buddies take off work once a year for a golf weekend, so we have to make the most of our trip. We'd played two other courses prior to playing yours, and they simply don't compare. Between your staff of Damien and (didn't get her name) the girl in the grill room, and the beautiful course, it was first class. The kitchen wasn't even open, but she was gracious enough to make us some sandwiches...it's the little things. Damien told us all about the area and the course...even gave us some putting tips! My only complaint with the course is the greens. They're too perfect....I had no excuses! We've decided King and Prince will be on the schedule once more, and my recommendations to others will come your way.
Vern D, from Guest Letter says:
It was good to be back on the island after so many years and nice to see the many positive changes.
One of the most positive things we experienced was your golf course. It was a joy to play. The course maintenance was excellent and the greens condition was superb. The course offered that rare combination; challenging yet playable. We found your staff to be cordial and professional. The course's natural beauty, and top notch course design coupled with excellent course maintenance and service made our visit most enjoyable.
Billy Fuller and your staff have created a gem. We look forward to our next St. Simons, and King and Prince Golf Course visit.
Claude S, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
King and Prince golf course (Hampton Club) is spectacular.
Alice B, from Guest Letter says:
I am part of a group that came down to The King and the Prince this past November to play golf. We had a wonderful time! The course was challenging, beautiful, and provided us with glimpses of wildlife from bald eagles and osprey to enormous alligators. We loved every minute of it!! Thanks for your warm hospitality!
Robert L, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
Played a round of golf at the course. Staff realized I was a single and was allowed to tee off the back. Played a very nice and quick round, no delays. Very helpful. Beautiful and challenging course.
Jet T, from Guest Letter says:
Please accept my heartfelt appreciation for your courtesy and generosity during our recent golf outing. You have done such a remarkable job with the club and the course. I cannot think of a time I’ve enjoyed playing Hampton any more than this year.
Roy & Denise M, from Post Stay Questionnaire say:

The condition and upkeep of the golf course is excellent. The improvements have made it a first class course.
Bill Y, from Guest Letter says:
I wanted to send you a note regarding our recent golf outing at your fine club. I have played your course for many years both individually and with a convention. This year was the best we have had, from the meal and bar service to the warm reception that we received while we were there. The golf course was in the best condition it has ever been and you should be very proud of your staff, greenskeeper and everyone who is and has been involved in your club. We had a wonderful time. And I thank you for you your hospitality. We look forward to seeing you next year.
Scott B, from Guest Letter says:
We have been Charter members of the Hampton Club for a long time (joined in Oct '89). When we played the course this past weekend I have to tell you it was in the best shape we have ever seen it. The fairways were plush and green, and the green held every shot and every putt rolled smooth and true. It was truly a pleasure to play and I want you to pass along our thanks to the maintenance crew and our superintendent for their hard work. Again, the course was immaculate condition and most enjoyable to play.
The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it and my wife and I have been playing it for years. In fact we have played several of the area courses during this June 2011 visit and Hampton's greens and fairways are the best in the area. Congratulations to you and your staff for a job well done.
I just wanted to thank you and your staff again for a great day at the golf course. The course was in excellent condition and we had some beautiful weather, but what really made the day work was you and your staff. We brought 62 golfers to play, changed the pairings countless numbers of times and everything was handled to perfection. Every person I met welcomed us and appreciated our group being there. As I mentioned on Thursday, we’ve held our tournament for several years and in several locations and you guys do it better than anyone. You should be very proud of the group of people you have working there and thanks again!
Perhaps the best course in the region, outside of the private tracks at Sea Island, is the King and Prince Beach Golf Resort ($79-$115; 912-634-0255, kingandprince.com). Formerly known as the Hampton Club, this sporty 6,462-yard, par-72 course was renovated by Billy Fuller in 2009 and features a handful of memorable holes, notably the 561-yard, par-5 3rd, which has marsh down the entire left side and a lake on the right side near the green and the 391-yard par-4 13th, which hopscotches the marsh via islands of turf.
A great trip for 17 consecutive years!
“Best spot on Coastal Ga.” My experience with the King and Prince was one of the best vacations I ever had. I am the Golf Travel Guru, so I have stayed at some of the top resorts in the USA. I would have to say my trip to St. Simons Island was a top ten for myself, which means you must come to the King and Prince and stay.
So much to do and see there. The Staff was the best ever. The Food and their Seafood Buffet has to be one of the best meals my wife and I had ever eaten!!
Bring yourself or your family and enjoy The King & Prince Golf and Beach Resort
My husband thoroughly enjoyed the golf.
