This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. I was initially disappointed we couldn't stay on Jekyll Island but my experience at the King and Prince changed that. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and the staff is exceptional (and I mean everyone from the desk staff to housekeeping!). Everything was fantastic for our girl's weekend away from stress. You'll get no complaints from this notoriously "high maintenance" girl!

Alan & Bradi, from Guest Letter, say:

This past April, my wife and I married at the Lighthouse on St. Simons. At the time we were still in graduate and law school, and our studies were calling. Nevertheless, we wanted to squeeze in a mini-honeymoon before we headed back to school. We could not have thought of a better place than the King and Prince. Also, we forgot to inform the staff that we were newlyweds until we checked in. Nevertheless, 30 mninutes after we arrived, your staff sent a complimentary bottle of champagne and strawverries for our enjoyment.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. You helped make the first day of our marriage unforgettable.
Sincerely, Alan & Bradi

Katharine T., from Guest Comment, says:

My husband and I came for our honeymoon and we had the best time! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and helpful to us. The room was amazing as was the food from the King's Tavern. My husband really enjoyed the golf course as did I even though I didn't play. We both got massages and the ladies there were so wonderful to us and I was completely relaxed and 'massaged out'. I will be recommending The King and Prince to everyone I talk to and we will definitely be coming back! 5 stars!!!

Dave H., from TripAdvisor, says:

I've always preferred small hotels for the intimacy and personal attention they offer and the K&P certainly typifies those qualities. The staff and management team is gracious, responsive and hands-on in going all out to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of every guest.

Christine T, from Guest Letter, says:

Dear Mr. Johnson (Director and General Manager),
The King and Prince excellence, I've known and admired all my 45 years of living in Georgia, but the depth of kindness wrapped throughout those traditions when my visiting family experienced a medical emergency is extraordinary.
Your colleagues in so many different roles extended concern and compassion along with physical assistance to the adult son who remained with me after we sent the children home - and to me - for five long days and nights.
Krista, the night desk professional who took my "Please call an ambulance" request, greeted me by name each dawn as I returned to the hospital. My night-duty son said she treated him just the same as he straggled in from the hospital to sleep some.
My daughter-in-law, watching the unfolding trauma in the Hampton House, reported men with flashlights guiding the ambulance to us. I was as astonished and appreciative as she was when I learned of that exceptional King and Prince service later.
Front Desk Manager Alden Alias graciously assisted us with our ever-changing schedule, and its uncertainty, always interested in medical updates, and always encouraging me no matter how tiny that report.
Bud St. Pierre and Laurie Karagul kept the conversations on health and healing, even as I expressed distress at my untended travel story writing. Family is indeed the heart of The King and Prince.
My colleague and yours, Leigh Cort, clearly does not inflate the wonders! I truly believe the essence of The King and Prince played a key role in my husband's recovery.
To you and your staff, I am eternally grateful.

We just left the King and Prince after a 9 night stay. We love this place. It is centrally located on the island with a great beach. It is a short 1 mile walk to the village and a 1.75 walk to the inlet pier in the opposite direction. We stayed in the main building on the first floor in an ocean front room next to the pool. So it was an easy walk for the kids out to the pool and thru to the beach. I can say all of the staff at the King and Prince are excellent and helpful to your needs. I highly recommend this place.

We spent our 40th wedding Anniversary here and were treated like royalty. The entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We brought our bikes and kayaks and the staff helped to store the bikes and security kept out kayaks very safe. Service at the pool was wonderful too, afternoon margaritas were served by a very friendly staff. After all the biking and kayaking, an afternoon at the Royal Treatment Cottage was just the perfect touch. We can't wait to go back, many times!

Betsy S, from TripAdvisor, says:

We needed a rest! King and Prince Resort was recommended to us and we decided to invest in our well-being by staying for 10 nights. We are on our 8th night and quite honestly, we would stay longer if we could. The staff from checking in to dining room, to housekeeping and ground maintenance have been pleasant and many I would describe as "delightful". We have not felt it too pricey when we reflected on how well maintained the entire resort is kept. (The buildings) are so clean and decorated beautifully and there is a charm that you can't find in the newer and more modern places. Would we come back? You betcha!!!

Jessica E, from Facebook, says:

This place is amazing. It has the best location, great restaurant, beautiful pools and most relaxing environment! Can't wait to go back!

Kaci P, from TripAdvisor says:

BEAUTIFUL resort with great amenities. We stayed in an oceanfront king room that overlooked the pool and ocean. The room was VERY clean and spacious. This was an anniversary trip for me and my husband. Upon arrival, we found a chilled bottle of champagne and a lovely note wishing us a happy anniversary. Every single member of the staff from check in to check out were great! I honestly don't have one single complaint about this place. Its super super super and I cant wait to return!!!

We vacation to St. Simons multiple times a year. The King and Prince is the only resort on the island, and we always have a wonderful time when we visit. Our most recent visit was this past March, and we enjoyed it immensely! We stayed in one of the Ocean Front Villas- the view was wonderful. We have also stayed in the hotel area, and we loved those rooms! The best part about the King and Prince would be the pool(s) and the deck overlooking the ocean. We also enjoy the grill/bar that is outdoors during the spring/summer months. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The location of the resort is wonderful-the village is maybe 2 miles down the road, and there are multiple restaurants on the island that are very close; we have too many favorites! The staff at the resort is wonderful, and they are always there to help. We always enjoy visiting this little piece of paradise!

My favorite weekend getaway with my hubby. The most peaceful, relaxing and quaint resort we have had the pleasure of staying. If you're looking to get away from your hectic and stressful life, this is the place for you! Love, love, love it!

Ashley M, from TripAdvisor says:

Lovely family getaway! We just returned for the 3rd year in a row. The gated swimming area overlooks the beach and ocean with beautiful panoramic views. The condo we rented for the week was privately owned in the south section of the condominium area. All in all, we love the resort and did not want to leave. The servers at the pool were very attentive and the staff was accommodating to our needs. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, which has Mother Nature at your fingertips...a fabulous learning experience for future marine biologists (aka the kids) as well as adults. We will definitely be back!

I just returned from St. Simons Island. We went on a family vacation with 2 adults and 3 kids in oceanview room. Check in and out was painless. We had a lot of fun. The location and easy access to the beach are excellent. The pools were great. The overall service was good.I would definitely recommend this hotel. My wife is already asking when do we go back!

Dale, from TripAdvisor says:

Although my recent visit to the King and Prince was my first, I sincerely hope it will not be my last. Supposedly nothing is perfect, but my three days at the King and Prince certainly came close. The room was well appointed, comfortable, and offered a spectacular view of both the pool area and the ocean. The front desk personnel were patient, courteous, and friendly. That's the personal touch that I found so great about the hotel and staff. I've visited St. Simons many times, but always stayed in rental units. After this wonderful stay, next time will again be at the King and Prince.

We stayed a long weekend at the King & Prince for Memorial Day. I will admit that I am a vacation "snob" of sorts and I do a ton of research before booking a trip. This trip was admittedly spontaneous and we booked the same day we were to arrive - I had heard plenty of great reviews of the property. We stayed in a 2 bedroom partial oceanview villa, and it was perfectly comfortable and quaint. The grounds of the resort were fabulous and the pools and beach access were superb. That aside, what was truly above and beyond was the service here. We were greeted with the warmest smiles and genuine care that our trip would be grand. Our sweet daily housekeeper, Lynn, exchanged handwritten notes with my 8 year old daughter, which was a huge highlight for her. The time Lynn took to do this really made a trip for my daughter extra special. She also carefully folded their blankets and placed their animals playfully on their beds. These little things go a LONG way when traveling with kids. My 4 year old also sliced her foot open out on the sandbar. As my husband brought her back over to the beach and went to find a first aid kit, a very kind security guard, Kent, insisted on coming with him and checking her out. She was okay despite a bad cut and we went to the room for the day. Kent called to check on her and even more impressively, as we were returning from dinner at 8 p.m., Kent was leaving the front door of our room where he had stopped to check on her again. He wanted to be sure she was okay and he wanted to bring her some ice cream. We were so impressed with this above and beyond service, there is no doubt we will return to the King and Prince! Thank you to the staff at this resort for making a difference. AND THE ISLAND IS BEAUTIFUL!

Peggy S., from TripAdvisor says:

The K & P resort is a magnificent historic hotel that has all the modern upgrades. It has rooms and suites for all different budgets, yet you all get the same amenities. We stayed in one of the historic buildings cabana rooms with a patio and french doors opening to the ocean - beautiful. It is perfect for a beach and pool relaxing vacation. The beach is fabulous. Fishing is nearby. We would definitely go back there again.

Lorie M., from TripAdvisor says:

Great beach hotel in the heart of St Simons island in southern Georgia! Lots of options for lodging from rooms, villas and cottages. Nice pool with excellent pool side service. Excellent helpful staff!

Good morning
Returning to the ‘real’ world has been challenging after the marvelous VIP treatment Larry and I received over the past four days at The King and Prince. What a wonderful getaway at such a beautiful property - words fail when I try to enumerate everything. Exploring St. Simon’s via our rental bike from Ocean Motion was perfect – the bike lanes made even a novice like myself very comfortable, and we were able to get to Neptune Park and the art festival, as well as the numerous shopping options, quite easily. Having the beautiful pool and beach only steps away from our room was convenient, and we took advantage of this privilege!
Shrimping on the Lady Jane was something we will long remember – it was a gorgeous day, and this was something we likely would not have done on our own, but we certainly will do again. We were as excited as the children on board when the net released and we saw what was captured along with the delicious shrimp we enjoyed during the trip – I’ve probably never eaten fresher ones! The crew was knowledgeable about the various fish, turtles, sting rays, etc., that were brought up, and quite patient in answering questions.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the excellent service by the staff at The King and Prince – we were treated like rock stars. Our side-by-side massage was so relaxing and peaceful in such a beautiful environment – Sonya and Bucky did an amazing job for both of us.
The food as also wonderful, from the morning breakfast buffets to the dinner prepared by Chef Jason Brumfiel – what a gem you have in him, as well as in Sous Chef James Flack and Pastry Chef Samuel Hepburn. We were delighted with each perfect and beautiful course, and for our primo ocean-view table for our dining experience.
I was grateful for this memorable trip. Thanks again! You and your associates are absolutely the best…..

Janice E.

Dear Hotel Management & Staff
Today is the last full day of our 14-day stay. This will finish our 16th visit, and celebrating our 15th anniversary. It will be very hard leaving this special place on Monday morning
We didn't want to leave without some kudos to your excellent staff:

  • Check-in - Shannon, Clarence, Rachel, Brandi & James
  • Concierge - Susan, who arranged the lovely in-room welcome treats
  • Dining - Amber, April, Connie, Jackie, James, Deborah & Jennifer
  • Outdoor dining - Lori
  • Housekeeping - Carol, Kristy
  • Breakfast buffet - Terrell
  • Maintenance - quick, efficient service

Each and every time we had contact with these folks, smiles greeted us, kind words spoken, mention of how glad they are that we came to the K&P.
We feel this is our second home and staff are our extended family. The charm and the southern hospitality keep us coming back. Our reservations are already made for next year's return and we look forward to it.
Keep up the good work and let those mentioned know we did so. We have not one complaint, due to your special staff. We would be remiss if we didn't mention all staff at the poolside. We didn't get specific names, however they were constantly dashing about to service those wishing food or drink. You have a very special place here!

We just returned from staying at The King and Prince Resort. We booked a three bedroom villa for our family of eight. The purpose of our stay was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with our four sons and the two older sons' wives. The staff couldn't have been more professional, kind or gracious. The front desk staff were just so very professional and kind. It ended up being the most fantastic vacation that our family ever had. The family LOVED THE WHOLE PLACE and everything about it! The lady who cleaned our villa was wonderful. She was very happy and pleasant and willing to accommodate our family in any way. Did a great job on our villa every day. I want to tell everyone at The King and Prince a big huge "THANK YOU" for all of your kindness and gracious service to our family. You guys are all awesome and very professional. My family will be returning. Now my boys want to plan a trip with their in laws and family as well. Our good friends will be staying two days with you guys in July because of our great experience. Did I mention that we got champagne delivered to our villa for our 30th anniversary? What a nice touch. Thanks again King and Prince! You guys are wonderful!

We just returned from our weekend getaway for our anniversary. The King and Prince is a wonderful gem! We look forward to returning soon and often. We booked last minute and still were able to get a great room. The property takes you back in time with its outdoor swings overlooking the ocean. Our room was very clean and the bed was heavenly. Everyone at the hotel and everywhere we went on the island was so friendly and helpful. There is great food within walking distance. Truly a great place!

My husband and I have just returned from our first stay at the King and Prince Resort, and are already planning a return visit. The property hugs the beachfront with lots of nooks and crannies and choices of accommodation. Loved the historic stained glass windows, the outdoor pool pavilion, and being situated right on the beach. High marks to the staff who seemed very well trained and were full of smiling southern charm.
The food was excellent - loved the Shrimp and Grits. Had a great time on St. Simons - be sure to have breakfast one morning at the Sandcastle - unbelievable breakfast buffet - DELICIOUS! Great trolley tour and went shrimping on the Lady Jane across the causeway in Brunswick - fascinating.

I found the King and Prince while searching for a place where: a) the sun was shining (this was a challenge in early May this year) b) was right on the beach c) was fairly upscale but still reasonable. We needed downtime this trip so that means contemplative walking, sunning, and reading. That fit St Simons pretty well and the King and Prince Hotel very well.

We spent 5 nights at the K&P last week. We had an amazing view of the pools and the ocean. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and left cheerful notes everyday. I would highly recommend The King and Prince to anyone who wants to vacation on SSI.

This is a great place for families. I have 2 small children and our stay was awesome. The beach was great and the staff was super friendly! We stayed in a 3br villa and our experience was tremendous. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful resort-style atmosphere that is also family-focused.

Carol H., from Guest Letter says:

We were extremely satisfied with the resort and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. Monica did a marvelous job of keeping our room clean and sweet smelling our entire stay. We would like to recommend her for special commendation. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. We'll be singing your praises for a long time. Thanks!

Juli and Walt L, from TripAdvisor say:

The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to your team members for being so accommodating at all times. We also especially liked the super-comfy bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night. Thanks so much for a lovely visit.

We stayed here for the first time last fall and loved it. When we got an email from them offering us their winter specials we jumped at it. We were offered an oceanfront room at a wonderful price. It was winter, so we did not expect much as far as weather was concerned, but we just wanted to stay at the hotel again since we enjoyed it so much the first time. As luck would have it, it was sunny and in the 70s the whole time we were there. The beach was packed which just made the trip that much better. A great hotel and beautiful weather in January is hard to beat. We can't wait to go back!

It has been years since I visited the King and Prince and I am happy to say that the staff is just as attentive as before, the rooms comfortable, the views outstanding, and the food delicious. My husband and I took a couple of days after Christmas to recoup from the rush and could not have chosen a more excellent place!

Becky, from TripAdvisor says:

The King and Prince has kept the charm of her origin and coupled great service with spectacular views, comfortable rooms, and southern hospitality for an outstanding get a way! Having frequented K & P in the 70's and 80's, I am pleased that the owners have kept the resort family friendly, but still an excellent place for my husband and I to rest and unwind after a busy season of work, family, and holidays. It was also tastefully decorated for the Christmas season, making it more special!

From the ocean view rooms over the pool to the custom made to order buffet breakfast...this hotel is worth every penny! The beach is super clean and not crowded. The pools are clean and inviting. Lots of places to relax and watch the waves roll in. Staff is super nice and welcoming. There is a hole in the wall BBQ joint right outside the hotel gates...you would be crazy to not stop in and partake! Cannot say enough nice things about this property. Wonderful experience both times I have stayed.

Steve W., from TripAdvisor says:

We are from Colorado and wanted to spend a few days on the Georgia coast with an ocean view and ocean sounds. We also wanted a beach community that was attractive - but not stuffy. The K&P on St. Simons was a bullseye. I had read on Trip Advisor that the staff is exceptionally friendly; I heartily agree.

E. Glidewell, from Guest Comment says:

I wanted to let you know about a young man that provided exceptional service. Our first night at our villa, we realized just before bedtime that the sliding glass door would not lock. I called the front desk and they immediately sent Benji from maintenance to check on it. He was able to lock the door. While he was there, I asked if he could show me how to open a window in one of the bedrooms. He was unable to open the window, but did close off the heating vent and assured me he would check on the door/windows the next day. When I arrived back at the room later that evening, he had left me a note that the door had been fixed, but unfortunately the windows were screwed closed. He apologized for the inconvenience and provided me a fan. I just wanted to let you know how friendly, helpful, and dedicated this young man is. As a human resources/customer service representative, I don't always get to witness great customer service. Thank you!

We stayed at The King & Prince "Hotel" on the first night of our honeymoon back in 1979. It was just a relatively small oceanfront hotel (built in 1935) that we found by accident while driving north from Florida on our wedding night. We came back for a 2nd honeymoon 33 years later. WOW! It's now a beautiful resort. All I can say is "Absolutely Wonderful experience." Southern Hospitality lives here. Every facet of our stay could not be better... ....from making reservations to checkout. The Staff, accommodations, dining, grounds, .....EVERYTHING! Just Top Notch. We have traveled all over the world, and this resort is right at the top tier of some very exclusive places we've stayed. They just do what they do VERY WELL! We will be back EVERY YEAR from now on.

Kate, from TripAdvisor says:

My family and I stayed at the King and Prince for five nights in August 2012. We chose St. Simon's because we had not been to coastal Georgia and it represented a partway point on a drive home from Tampa to Virginia. Overall, St. Simon's island is wonderful. We were able to take advantage of a number of outdoor activities in the area and went to the beach every day at the hotel. The hotel itself has a very gracious and helpful staff, a great location, and nice features. We were pleased by the meals - we mostly had lunches or breakfasts there, just one dinner - and loved the beach.

We have been going to the King & Prince for 19 years. Obviously we have always loved it. Yes, they have redone the Oceanside pool area... beautiful, but this year something special is going on. The service, the organization, the smiles were everywhere. It has all been kicked up a notch. It was noticed and appreciated. Thank you for making our visit better then ever!

Just wanted to thank you for yet another wonderful stay! We were there last weekend to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary, the third year in a row we have stayed at the K&P for our anniversary. The staff is always warm and friendly, the room is always lovely, and the bottle of wine was such a nice gift, thank you for everything! We will be back next year for our 38th anniversary!!

My family and I were guests at the K&P over the 4th of July week and we wanted to express how fantastic EVERYTHING was at the hotel! We have vacationed at the K&P for many many years and this was by far one of our best stays. We were delighted with the new renovation of the pool area and the service was more than EXCEPTIONAL. We fell in love with the staff. We even felt compelled to leave all the servers we came in contact with a small token of our appreciation as we were leaving St. Simons. Please continue to do what you are doing. We are so looking forward to our next trip down to the island. The K&P is a huge part of our lives and will always hold a special place in our hearts! Kudos to all! We can't wait to return!

If you are looking to find a resort where you can arrive, park your car, and never leave until you get ready to check out then the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort is the place for you!! The King and Prince has everything you need to enjoy both a long stay or just a short getaway. The staff is wonderful and cater to your every need. The restaurants and bars are top notch. And the rooms, private homes, and Villas are a just what one needs to relax and enjoy a stay on the most beautiful places on Earth! A visitor can walk to a variety of attractions, shops, and restaurants or get a beach cruiser and just ride around this little slice of Paradise. When you get here you won't like to leave! The best part was the beach pool/ pool deck overlooking the beach. There you will find a staff that zips around caring for the visitors and anticipating their needs. If you visit, be sure to enjoy the famous Friday Night Seafood Buffet that is loaded with fresh seafood with all the trimmings as well as the delicious Breakfast Buffet. We eagerly anticipating our next visit to the King and Prince and enjoying a little slice of Paradise!

My wife and I booked reservations on the Gulf in south Florida for a Thursday through Sunday break. After checking the weather, we noticed that tropical storm Debby was going to "rain on our parade". I began looking for somewhere else to go to escape the storm. I found the King and Prince, and we drove up that day. After checking in we ate at the hotel's restaurant with a beach view. The food was good and so was the service. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are very clean and spacious. We brought our bicycles and that was one of the best items we brought with us. The whole area is about a five mile perimeter that we biked every morning after breakfast in the adorable little area on Mallery street with all the shops and restaurants. We sat by the pool for two days straight from about 10a.m. until about 6p.m. The pool is beautiful and over looks the beach. My wife and I will definitely come back!!!

Adair, from TripAdvisor says:

The King and Prince is the perfect getaway from this busy world. My husband and I have visited several times, and we love it more every time. Though it is an older property, they have worked hard to keep things updated and not lose the historic charm. It is the perfect combination of new and old. There is nothing like sitting by the King and Prince pool, overlooking the ocean, and simply relaxing. We love being able to stroll to the nearby Crab Trap restaurant for dinner, or simply staying at the resort for a lovely dinner overlooking the ocean at the King's Tavern. On our last day of our most recent visit, we decided to wake up to watch the sunrise. It was the perfect ending to a great trip.

Now, let me first say, we did not stay here overnight, we only came here for brunch. BUT, this hotel...worth reviewing for just a short visit. I have so much to say about this place. Amazing waterfront location, long, perfectly manicured grounds...gorgeous pool with plenty of places to sit. We had breakfast in their dining area, awesome water front view with stained glass pictures over each panoramic window. The lobby was open, sunny and beautiful. I could walk around this hotel for hours. There are swings to sit on facing the water and the view is breathtaking. Maybe some day we will go back and stay there but I can't say enough about this impressive resort!

Mary T, from TripAdvisor says:

I had the pleasure of staying at The King & Prince this past May as I traveled to St. Simons Island and, as usual, it was a delightful experience. Time and time again, it is such a joy to come back to The King & Prince with its breathtaking views of the ocean and tranquil atmosphere. When I visit the coast, there are three things that I look for in a hotel:1) a beautiful view of the ocean and beach, 2) first rate service from the staff and 3) a clean and well-kept room. The King & Prince exceeds these expectations, allowing me to truly enjoy my time away from home.

Joined my husband for a four day business trip in January 2012. Customer service at the front desk was fantastic. We kept them busy with many requests. They remembered us by name and were sincerely courteous. SSI is a lovely place. It's a relaxed feel from Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach...but still has a great night life. Perfect location to the beach. Be sure to ask the local for places to eat. All were fantastic.

My mother and I stayed at the King and Prince last weekend, as I was attending a conference there. I had eaten at the hotel before but never had the privilege of staying there. The immaculate, large and lovely room, the beach, the food and the friendly, caring staff are truly unsurpassed. I have traveled all over the world but find the King and Prince is second to none in providing most superior quality in a hotel stay. I give it my highest possible recommendation. It is truly the best of Georgia and the best of true southern hospitality!

I have never had such great service! We were actually booked at another hotel but the rooms weren't ready and we had to get to our meeting. We went to K&P to check availability and they not only let us check in but met our price at the other resort! Kudos to Ms Veronica and staff who greeted us by name each time she saw us and always had a lovely smile on her face! View was breathtaking, grounds are kept immaculate! We will definitely be back for pleasure on our next trip!

We stayed at The King and Prince with our extended family the week between Christmas and New Years and could not have enjoyed a more special time. You feel like you're stepping back in history with all the modern amenities. The holiday decorations gave the property a special feel and the staff made you feel like family. Check in was a breeze and when Shannon realized we were an extended family traveling together, she even upgraded us to a larger room- she made us feel special. The room was traditionally furnished, the beds were very comfortable and the extra vanity and sink outside the full bath made getting 4 people ready much easier. The room was clean and we enjoyed our sunset and sunrise view immensely. We had drinks in the dining room and experienced a level of service you don't often enjoy in our busy worlds. My son enjoyed the indoor pool, hot tub and workout facility. You can walk to several great restaurants if you choose to go off property. I'm looking forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy the beach and golf. St. Simons is a special place and The King and Prince make it even more special.

I spent 3 days at a conference at this resort. The rooms were just beautiful. I was in an ocean view room with a balcony. The room was refreshingly clean and inviting. Great place for a retreat! The meeting space was also well done with everything placed to perfection. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will return to this jewel in Saint Simons Island!

I was there for a hotel management conference. We are some of the pickiest people when it comes to critiquing a hotel because we are in the business. I will have to say the staff at this hotel is top-notch. The accommodations were divine. We would love to visit again with the family and get more beach time!!

I was able to stay at this resort the first week of November and loved every moment of my stay. I was there on business, and even while working, it felt like an escape. Great room with an ocean view and balcony. I was even able to sleep with the balcony door open one night because the weather was beautiful. My only regret was not bringing a bathing suit! The beach was fantastic.

I stayed at the King and Prince on November 9th and 10th for a meeting. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful with a classic style located directly on the beach. It is a beautiful setting. The room was nicely appointed, very clean with a great bed. The patio facing the ocean was a perfect place to sit and relax at the end of the night. The bathroom was spacious with lots of very hot water. This is a unique hotel, perfect for work our pleasure. I will make it a point to come back to this hotel in the future.

David B, from TripAdvisor says:

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort on a business trip and had a GREAT STAY! Views are incredibly and the rooms are clean and spacious. Staff was friendly and always had a smile to offer. I had a tasty lobster and seafood lasagna at the restaurant. Overall a great stay.

We had a great time during our visit to the King and Prince Resort. The location was fantastic and the staff were all very friendly. It was a memorable experience and I can't wait to plan my next return trip there. The newly renovated rooms are very comfortable and the ocean view rooms had an amazing view.

This resort is nestled in a beautiful quite setting surrounded by the ocean. We were there for a meeting but at night it was so wonderful sitting on the balcony hearing the waves and seeing the sunset. I am looking forward to returning for some personal time. The staff is excellent, room was clean and food good.

I just completed my second trip there. What a delightful, charming hotel with a terrific staff. The service details are comparable to 5 star expectations. My first trip there was with a large group. Their attention to detail for the guest rooms, the meetings, and the food and beverage service was the best I have ever experienced. This last visit was with a few friends. I recommend this hotel for any occasion.

Anonymous, from TripAdvisor says:
This resort is a great price value. It sits right on the ocean wall. You can listen to the waves all night long. Our favorite was the ironed sheets and the down pillows. There are cooked to order omelets for breakfast and a great IPA beer in the bar. The staff has that Southern hospitality, which makes you feel like you are at home.

Anonymous, from TripAdvisor says:
Had the pleasure of staying here for a night--great location--right on the shore. Beautiful sunrise and great ocean breeze. The staff was most accommodating and the facilities and food--outstanding. Would make a point of staying here next time I return to the area!

Cindy O, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
Beautiful facility with true southern charm.

Tom M, from TripAdvisor says:
This was my first visit to The King and Prince, and I have to say it was one of my favorite hotels ever. It's charming, well laid out, casual, beautiful, has a great beach, and very friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the workout facility was in perfect shape, also with immaculate rest rooms and new weights. The hotel occupies my favorite spot on the island, close to everything, with a great little barbeque spot a block away and just five minutes from the best barbeque place I've ever visited, Southern Soul. The hotel's dining areas are really beautiful. The lobby shop was great. I hope to visit as often as I can. It's a real home away from home, with the gracious ambiance of the past matched by modern convenience and southern warmth to the max!!

Scott H, from TripAdvisor says:
Our short stay was wonderful and the resort was beautiful. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The heated indoor pool was the best part because we were there in November and it was chilly outside. Would recommend this resort for a laid back relaxing stay!

My stay at King & Prince Beach and Golf Resort was amazing. The view is magnificent from when the sun rises to when the sun sets. Just a few feet away from the Atlantic Ocean, you will often see a cruise liner from a distance. The rooms are fairly big and neatly cleaned. The service is what is expected on a 5 star resort. For dining, the buffet was full of choices, from seafood, chicken, steaks to all sorts of dessert. Peach cobbler, peach cake, peach ice cream...should I continue. I was happy to see Starbucks, which definitely started my day right. For lunch, I preferred having some finger foods and a cocktail from the outside cafe. The friendly staff made my stay at King and Prince Beach Resort worth while.

This was our first visit to the King and Prince. Everyone we came in contact with was very helpful and very friendly. Everyone, including the maid service was very friendly and always said hello. We hope to return sometime soon.

Tim K, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
Very impressed with front desk service, and particularly with Rob who resolved some booking and reservation concerns and ensured that all issues were resolved - his attention to detail and customer service had a tremendous impact on the quality of our entire stay. Everyone involved, from the valet and service personnel to management, appears to share the same customer-focused approach. This was definitely one of the best vacation stays I have had anywhere in recent memory due to the consistent professionalism exhibited by all employees.

Jill G, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
Jenifer was an outstanding waitress. I wanted to thank all of the staff from the tavern to the restaurant. It is nice to have people remember you from your last visit and to acknowledge and appreciate our repeat business. It is a pleasure to get to know more about the wonderful staff at the King and Prince.

Kathleen M, from Post Say Questionnaire says:
Our stay at the King and Prince was quite memorable and made extra special by the presentation of a bottle of Champagne upon arrival to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. This was a very pleasant surprise and we appreciate the thoughtfulness of the Management and Staff on our behalf. All the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and extended the real "Southern Hospitality" that we have come to love about Georgians.

Mary Jo, from TripAdvisor says:
The King and Prince Hotel and Beach Resort on St. Simons Island is the ultimate in vacation experiences for couples, family or special occasions. Our room was a suite which walked out to the beach. We also used the nearby golf course which is both beautiful and a challenge to golfers of all levels. There are several excellent restaurants in the hotel and many more in the Village which is within walking distance of the hotel. It is also possible to arrange through the hotel, visits to nearby attractions including Savannah and Amelia Island, I would definitely recommend this resort.

We have vacationed at the K&P for about 10 years now. We just returned for a 4 night, 5 day dream of a vacation. It was so very relaxing. The whole island is easy and a step back in time. The whole resort is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed in all sorts of guest rooms as well as the villas. The indoor pool is warm and relaxing and amazing. My blood pressure lowers the minute I step foot on the island and K&P is large enough to have your privacy but not so large you can't get around. Rent bikes and explore the pier and island and walk the beaches of East beach and take in the beautiful scenery and then relax in the pools. No need to drag chairs down to the beach...just sit in the lounge chairs by the ocean by the pool that are provided by the hotel as well as beach towels.

For the second year in a row, my wife and I chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the King&Prince. We had a fourth floor, ocean front room, overlooking the pool area. I mentioned the special occasion when making the reservation and we were surprised to find a complimentary bottle of chilled sparkling wine in our room when we arrived. We enjoyed the beverage while sitting on our private porch watching the waves break on the rock barrier below.  During our stay, my wife discovered that she had left her eyeglasses in the hotel rest room but when we returned to the rest room the glasses were gone. We asked a house keeper who said she had not cleaned the rest room but she knew who did. She walked half way around the resort to find another house keeper who returned the glasses to us in a sealed plastic bag. The glasses story is just an example of the way all levels of the staff go out of their way to make your visit as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. We love St. Simons Island and the King and Prince. We think the restaurant is excellent and there are a dozen other fine restaurants on the island. We have been going there for twenty years and will probably spend our next anniversary there

Barbara R, from Website Guest Comments says:
My husband and I stayed here for our 40th anniversary and were surprised by a bottle of champagne. We have stayed at the K & P for our anniversary 4 of the last 5 years. Every time I hate to leave. St. Simons is so great and is not a tourist trap. Just relax and stay as long as you can. I feel blessed to have found SSI & the K & P. We will be back.

Although our stay at the King and Prince was a business trip for my husband, I enjoyed it just as much as a luxury vacation. The resort is beautiful, with three swimming pools (one indoor) and a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our room had a crisp, clean feel and was very well appointed with extras like luxury bedding, an extra large new TV, free Wi-Fi and a terrific view of the ocean. Our room was on the ground floor with an inviting patio a mere few steps to the pool. There is drink and food available at the pool along with a very attentive wait staff: I never got out of the pool once for refills on my piña coladas.
Chocolates and a turned down bed awaited us at the end of every day and a USA today newspaper was on our doorstep every morning. When it was time to leave I wanted to stay another day and so we did. For a gorgeous treat watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean from poolside; something I'd never seen before, but definitely worth rising early.

This was our second stay at the King and Prince. We stayed for four nights with an eleven year old and a five year old. I am happy and proud to say my children’s favorite memories were at the King and Prince. A long fun beach, darling independent shops and barbeque and seafood places to walk to, lunch by the pool, fantastic hotel restaurant, well kept tennis court and pool all added up to great times together. We'd raft to a sandbar, go for mile walks, jump waves + retire to a well appointed room. It is now our annual spring stop; our tradition...even if from 14 hrs away!

Great food, easy access to beach, nice pools and whirlpool, great service (shout outs to front desk), nice room with awesome view, what more could we ask?

Don P, from TripAdvisor says:
Our stay from our arrival till departure was great. The staff is very friendly and helpful especially with planning our daily activities. The resort has direct beach access. I loved that the beach is never the same. You can always see something new and interesting each day. The main building itself has its own history. The decor transports you to a grander era. There are multiple pools in which to swim.

This was our 6th year at The King and Prince and it just keeps getting better. We love the addition of the umbrellas poolside and the champagne was a very nice touch. This is our 11th year staying here for a conference and we really look forward to coming here each and every year. I appreciate the addition of the poolside umbrellas. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I sat out on the patio while the housekeeper spent a full 45 minutes cleaning my room. Often times hotel housekeeping will not vacuum your room until you check out. Our room was vacuumed each day. I am a bit of a neat freak, so I notice and appreciate such things. I was ironing (that neat thing again) and discovered that the iron was leaking water. I called the front desk and had a new iron in less than 5 minutes. I had a follow up phone call to insure that I was satisfied. Extra towels or extra blankets, it always came quickly and with a smile, followed by a "can I help you with anything else Sir". I am already booked for next July!!

Ricky B, from Post Stay Questionnaire says:
Your staff is great! Extremely polite, great manners, and looked like they enjoyed their job.  As always, you exceed my expectations. Keep doing what you are doing.

St. Simons Island and The King and Prince resort is our "happy place"! We have returned almost every 4th of July weekend for the last 12 - 14 years, often bringing friends or other family. My husband and I very much enjoyed our visit at the King and Prince on St. Simons Island, GA. The property and island is charming and holds a lot of history. At the King and Prince, our room was perfect... clean and relaxing. We spent our days by the pool where we were served lunch by the pool staff. The breakfast buffet at the King and Prince was better than most hotel restaurants with fresh omelets made to order. We hope to make the King and Prince a regular vacation spot.

JD, from TripAdvisor says: This is a great hotel! An awesome, welcoming staff; comfortable rooms; and a great restaurant! I was here for 1 night on business, so I didn't get to explore the beach or town. But I was so impressed, I'm planning a return trip on my own later in the season.

I knew when I saw the Keurig coffee maker in my room that this was my kind of place. Biggest decision was deciding to put my towel on the beach or by the pool. Perfect setting, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service and a beach setting is the framework for an excellent vacation or weekend getaway. The Resort features a pool, ocean front dining, inside pool and it is close enough to walk to nearby restaurants as well. The rooms have been redecorated and are extremely comfortable. The staff is at one’s service and so polite. If you want to relax, make memories, and have a great time, the King and Prince Beach Resort is the place to visit!

We love to come to Saint Simons Island and stay at the King and Prince. My husband and I had our honeymoon at the King and Prince 17 years ago and have brought our boys to vacation here also. The smell of the marshes, the beautiful moss draped oaks, the history, and the beauty of the ocean bring us back every time. ... The King and Prince has the beauty and relaxation of a great Southern Resort along with the hospitality that keep us returning to make family memories. I love the smiles on our children's faces when we come and stay as they play in the sand and dream....

The K & P is special to us. My wife and I met in the lobby in May of 1990. We spent our honeymoon there in 1993. We come to St. Simons at least once a year and stay at the K & P about every 3 or 4 years. The K & P is a wonderful and somewhere we'll continue to enjoy.

Elanie G, from Guest Insight says:

I love the K&P for the heritage that is maintained as well as the physical up-dates that are added without spoiling the unique features of the past! I am the second generation that has loved the K&P and walked the beaches and swung in the swings! Generations 3 and 4 of our family are fans of yours as well.  My daughter even chose it as the site of her wedding reception...which was fabulous! I cannot wait to take my granddaughter (generation #4) to the hallowed beaches.  Hope you will have some "special rates" so the baby can experience that same special feeling that we all have for the K&P!

Premium Oceanfront Rooms: Tower Room

Anonymous, from Trip Advisor says:

The King & Prince Hotel was a wonderful place to stay for my first trip to St. Simons Island. We stayed in one of the Tower Rooms on the third floor of the Historic Building in the hotel complex. The room decor was very attractive, and the wall art featured vintage photos from the hotel archives. There was even a small "Juliet" balcony, where we could step out and look down the beach and onto the hotel grounds. The hotel staff were very attentive and polite. The proximity to the beach cannot be beat, and the card key system for the hotel/parking/beach access gates makes guests feel very secure. We were lucky to visit on a March weekend with temperatures in the low 70's. Spring was in the air, and there was lots of activity on the beach. We had a perfect romantic weekend--thank you King & Prince!!

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful night at the K&P on Saturday night. Gorgeous room-very romantic with the ocean breeze & sounds coming through the open door of our balcony. We highly recommend room 301! What a view!

The Cabana was wonderful even though it rained three of the four days we were there. Beautiful view of the Ocean, fun swings and wonderful staff made the four days fly by too quickly. The food that our large group was served was outstanding. Best Georgia Fried Shrimp I've EVER eaten. We were pleased that so many shopping areas were nearby. My wife and I can't wait to come back.

When we made our reservation, we talked to Ben. We told him we wanted a room with a balcony facing the beach. We have been there before and thought we would like to be in the building near the pool. However, when we mentioned we were coming to enjoy a quiet, relaxing , much needed time of rest, Ben suggested a room in the historic building.
We were in room #212, and it was WONDERFUL. When we come again, we would want to be in one of those room. Thank you Ben.

The K&P hotel is a breathtakingly beautiful location right on the oceanfront. At low tide we could walk for miles along the sandy beaches admiring the stunning beachfront properties. At high tide we could sip a cocktail by the pool and watch schools of dolphins.
The staff here were incredibly efficient, helpful and friendly - going out of their way to make our stay as perfect as possible. The hotel has every facility you could wish for and all modern conveniences.
The breakfast buffet was particularly noteworthy - the quality and range of food available was staggering to cater everyone from a picky child to a seasoned gourmet world traveler. You can sit and eat breakfast overlooking the ocean in one of the only oceanfront restaurants on Saint Simon's Island.
The room we had overlooked the pool and ocean beyond and was spacious, comfortable and well designed. The room service staff were extremely attentive to our every need.
Everything about this hotel earns it *****! From the fantastic booking staff to the maid service, this hotel deserves to be ranked in the top I have ever visited and a total must if you find yourself on the Georgia coast!

I am nearly 13 years old and I stayed with my Mom at the resort. The room was killer; we had a great ocean view that also overlooked the pool. It wasn't junky like most beach hotels but very nice like a city hotel. I had a hard time getting Mom off the balcony to go do things. The outdoor pool was nice in the middle of the day, but I switched to the heated pool and hot tub inside later. The beach was really clean here. Unlike a lot of beaches in other places. Food was good. There was other things to do on the island too. There are dolphin cruises, Georgia Sea Turtle Rescue Center on Jekyll and a lot more to do. I went on a ghost tour in St. Simons one night that was fun too!

Fabulous view.  Wonderful accommodations.  Very nice staff.  Loved it…as always!

Adam M, from Guest Insight says:

I have been staying at the K&P since I was a little boy when my grandparents used to live on the island.  Each time it gets better and more impressive.  I love the poolside ocean view rooms and the new décor and technology.  The K&P has so many wonderful memories for me with my parents and family as a child and it’s always such a therapeutic experience for me now that I’m an adult.  I try to get down there once a year (my favorite times are spring and late summer).  Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The views from the balcony were spectacular.  Proximity to the beach so wonderful.  The furnishings were fit for a queen.

Partial Oceanview: Partial Oceanview Rooms in the Historic Building

Wanda M, from Guest Comment Card says:

As always we had a wonderful stay.  We will be back again and again. (room 224)

Anonymous, from TripAdvisor says:

This is one of the most lovely hotels in which we have stayed in years. It reminded us of some truly famous five-star properties where we have had great experiences. We had an ocean view room in the Historic Building. The room was absolutely charming. We felt pampered and comfortable, but not overly sophisticated. The beds were really comfortable with lots of pillows. The bathroom was huge and exceptionally comfortable. We really appreciated the tea selection as well as the brewing device. The flat screen TV had an excellent picture and lots of channel choices. The refrigerator concealed in the room was also a nice touch for a cold beverage or juice. The room was very large, and we made good use of both the desk and the sofa. We also appreciated the free wi-fi.
The weather was dreadful so we spent most of our five days looking out the window at the ocean and submerging ourselves in the luxury of the room itself. I cannot think of a better place to spend five cold and dismal days than in this lovely hotel.

Very happy to have an ocean view room - enjoy hearing ocean sounds.

Housekeeping was exceptional. All staff friendly and eager to help. I had a partial ocean view and was delighted w/ the balcony and view (room 228). The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and informal but upscale

Partial Oceanview: Partial Oceanview in Oleander Building

Joe & Arlene, from TripAdvisor says:

We totally enjoyed our three day stay at the King and Prince. Our room with an ocean view was large and clean with a beautiful view. The sound of gentle waves put us off into dreamland for a good night sleep. Walking on the beach and swimming in the pools was very invigorating and relaxing. All of the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed shopping at the Gift Shoppe with it's wonderful selections. We very much enjoyed the breakfast brunch, as it was delicious and well prepared. We are certainly planning to stay at the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort upon our annual visits to Saint Simon Island, Georgia.

We have always enjoyed our stays at The King and Prince. We were there this time for a wedding at the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was in Oleander and was comfortable and quiet.

Walter S, from Guest Comment Card says:

This is our second time here and we’re glad we came, even if for only 2 nights. We had the same room this time as we had at our last stay (397) and the room was lovely, as usual, and as all things are at this resort.

Richard S, from Guest Comment Card says:

Our stay was great!  Your facility was clean and our room (394) was perfect.  All the staff were helpful and friendly.  A special thanks to your front desk staff.  And the housekeeper (a lovely Jamaican lady) was the very best.  Please tell her how much we appreciated her kindness and professional appearance and work.  We will be back!

Room 298 was spacious, clean, well furnished, and well decorated with a quiet balcony and a satisfactory view of the ocean.  The grounds were well kept with easy accessibility to the main facilities.  The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional.  Your hotel provided an overall experience of comfort, relaxation, and privacy for a perfect get-away weekend.  Thank you.

Resortview Rooms in the Historic Building

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

The renovations; absolutely great!! The resort view room with two double beds is so much nicer. The kids enjoyed bringing their playstation and the big screen television, the screen door on the patio/balcony allowed us to listen to the waves while we sleep. I think room 238 is my favorite. I like the bathroom doors. Very nice. This week I spent three nights at the Buckhead Intercontinential. It was great! All marable and glass shower and large garden bath. I enjoyed the King & Prince just as much!!

Only staying a night on SSI, we were lucky enough to grab a room at the King and Prince. SSI books quickly during the summers. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very friendly from the first hello. We stayed in the Oglethorpe building, the room decor is a little dated but the room was very spacious and worth it. I would stay again and have already passed the hotels website along to friends and coworkers.

Anonymous from Guest Insight says:

Was with a conference group and only staying one night because of other obligations. I booked a room at the Oglethorpe Building. Since it was more economical and away from the ocean and pool, I just didn't expect it to be as great as it was. Thanks!

The addition of the Royal Treatment Cottage was wonderful and the price was reasonable. The service was friendly and professional. Oceanfront Suites: St. Simons Suite

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

The suite was spacious and very nicely decorated. Loved the Internet access and linens.

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

The initial entrance to the resort was breathtaking. However, the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the ocean view suite that allowed for every day to be enjoyable. The week-end was definitely enhanced by the Friday Buffet that captivated every palate known to us. We could not have been more pleased with the seasoning and the presentation of our options. It is our every intent to visit the Kings and Prince Resort again.

Oceanfront Suites: Governor's Suite

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the "bridal tower" 40 years ago. At that time the hotel was not in the best of condition. This time we spent our 40th anniversary in what is now called the Governor's Suite, which was the same tower as before. This "redo" was a wonderful experience. The facilities were excellent and the personnel were perfect. The food couldn't have been better. I'm sure you'll see us again in the future.

Brian G, from Guest Comment Card says:

This suite is outstanding!  Fit for a King (or Prince) Thank you.  My only regret is that I couldn’t have stayed longer.

Emily B, from Guest Insight says:

My husband and I stayed at The King and Prince for our honeymoon weekend.  I’m from the area and very familiar with the K & P.  The Governor’s Suite was beautiful, spacious, and had a great view.  The room service was great, we had breakfast each morning. We weren’t bothered by any maid service.

Villas (Both Oceanfront and Partial Oceanview)

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

My family and I live in Brunswick, Georgia, which is only about 15 minutes from St. Simons Island and the King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort. As a surprise for my husband's birthday, I booked a 2-bedroom villa at the K&P for the weekend. It was amazing! Even though we weren't far from home, it felt like we were a million miles away! From the moment we checked in until the time we left on Sunday afternoon, everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. The pools sparkled, and the lawns were immaculate. We loved that our villa had covered parking and a private pool. The size of our villa exceeded my expectations. We had friends over after dinner, and even with the adult chatter going on in the living area, my son was still able to go to sleep in the 2nd bedroom. The villa was beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. And, of course, nothing beats sitting out on the balcony listening to the sound of the ocean...which, by the way, is only a few steps away!
A favorite for my family... once we parked the car, we didn't use it again until it was time to leave! We ate lunch by the pool (it was very good and the service was quick), and we walked to dinner. There are several great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
We had a great weekend at the K&P! We're already talking about when we might visit again...and so are our friends!

Jennifer, from Faceboook says:

We spent the weekend in one of your villa's and my kids woke up this morning saying they wish we were still at The King and Prince and I had to agree, lol. We all hated to leave yesterday. We had a wonderful weekend. Thank you!! P.S. our accommodations were amazing.

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

"Exceeded my expectations" because: The Villa we stayed in was very clean, with a lot space for our two families, great view (with the partial view), the swimming pool for the grandkids was great, being so close to the ocean was a huge "plus", the personnel at the front desk was accommodating to us, also they were very pleasant. We loved the kitchen with all the day-to-day appliances available!

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

The location was great.  We enjoyed being near the beach and pool.  The villa was very spacious.  I especially liked being able to wash and dry our towels in the room.  I also liked that it was gated and secure.

My experience at The King & Prince was excellent. I traveled with 3 of my female friends for a girls' weekend, and this hotel couldn't have been more perfect. Not only were we close to restaurants and shopping on the island, we were also situated right on the beach with 2 pools to enjoy along with all the other great amenities of the hotel. We had a 2 BR Villa that was beautiful, and very efficient. We had a full kitchen, 2 king BR's, 2 spacious bathrooms, 2 balconies with beautiful views, and a large living area with fireplace. The hotel staff was, as always when I stay, extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Whether you're looking for a hotel room for 1 or 2, or a condo for a group you're traveling with, you just cannot go wrong at The King & Prince!! Enjoy!!

Resort Residences: Tabby

Diane, from Trip Advisor says:

Staying at the Tabby house, 1st floor was wonderful. The house is furnished lavishly, kitchen is upscale, with granite top and new appliances. Plasma TVs in every bedroom and living room. WiFi was free. Hotel staff was great and maintained the cleanliness of the rooms daily.
My teenage granddaughters (3) all had plenty to do at the hotel, for there are many jacuzzi's, along with a few pools (outdoor and indoor). There are benches everywhere on the property to sit and look out at the Atlantic ocean and star gaze. The property is within walking distance of the Village and the pier (shopping galore).
We are already planning our return trip to the King and Prince, Tabby House. It truly is a perfect vacation spot.

Mary Kay S, from Guest Insight says:

This was a 50th Birthday weekend among sisters and we could not have had a more perfect time.  The unit (Tabby House) was beautiful and exceeded our expectations.  We are already planning our next visit and have shared our experience with friends and family.

Mary B, from Guest Comment Card says:

The grounds of the Hampton House were perfect for our gathering!  The downstairs common area was perfect for our cocktail hour!

Anonymous, from Guest Insight says:

The accommodations are always wonderful and the service is top-notch. We have stayed in the condos with our family many times, both two and three bedrooms. We've vacationed at Hampton House twice with our extended family. We've stayed in the main hotel and the newer ocean view rooms too. The K & P is our favorite beach resort!

Resort Residences: Meadows

William W, from Guest Insight says:

Our family has been coming to the K&P since 1987. As the family has grown we have used different rooms and combinations of rooms depending on who was available that summer. This was a special year since my son and his family were able to come from Germany to join us which had not been possible for 10 years. The end result was my wife and I, our daughter and her husband, our son and his wife and our five grandchildren. The Meadows House was the perfect fit. We all had a great week and created many special family memories. Every summer when we leave we say it will be hard to top this visit but we topped them all this year.

Anonymous, from Trip Advisor says:

My wife and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary at The King & Prince. We stayed two nights at the Wynn Cottage. Great little place. Highly recommend the cottages. We ate at the Blue Dolphin and our dinner was very good. What a view! The eating establishments within walking distance from the resort are very good as well. This is a well kept property. Everyone we came in contact with from the front desk, the Blue Dolphin, to the beach and pool areas were very pleasant and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay and anniversary a memorable event. I didn't get a chance to play golf. That will be on our next visit.

Golf

John D, from Guest Letter says:

The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it and my wife and I have been playing it for years. In fact we have played several of the area courses during this June 2011 visit and Hampton's greens and fairways are the best in the area. Congratulations to you and your staff for a job well done.

Jeff B, from Guest Letter says:

I just wanted to thank you and your staff again for a great day at the golf course. The course was in excellent condition and we had some beautiful weather, but what really made the day work was you and your staff. We brought 62 golfers to play, changed the pairings countless numbers of times and everything was handled to perfection. Every person I met welcomed us and appreciated our group being there. As I mentioned on Thursday, we’ve held our tournament for several years and in several locations and you guys do it better than anyone. You should be very proud of the group of people you have working there and thanks again!

Anonymous, from Golf.com Blog says:

Perhaps the best course in the region, outside of the private tracks at Sea Island, is the King and Prince Beach Golf Resort ($79-$115; 912-634-0255, kingandprince.com). Formerly known as the Hampton Club, this sporty 6,462-yard, par-72 course was renovated by Billy Fuller in 2009 and features a handful of memorable holes, notably the 561-yard, par-5 3rd, which has marsh down the entire left side and a lake on the right side near the green and the 391-yard par-4 13th, which hopscotches the marsh via islands of turf.

I would have to say my trip to St. Simons Island was a top ten for myself, which means you must come to the King and Prince and stay.
So much to do and see there. The Staff was the best ever. The Food and their Seafood Buffet has to be one of the best meals my wife and I had ever eaten!!

One of my top two hotels in the world! Super service, food, staff, and property.  It was a breeze to plan and execute my meeting.  Hampton Club golf was even better than I remembered-Excellent!

I was here attending a conference for work. I am a GM at a hotel and was attending a conference for my management company. This resort did an excellent job of providing exceptional service and food. The rooms were well appointed and exceeded my expectations for this property. I love the location. This is a great resort, you can tell that their team enjoys working at the resort.

Phyllis, from Guest Letter says:

I just wanted to write to thank you again for all your help during our conference.  You and your staff did such a wonderful job of helping us have a successful conference this year.  I appreciate you letting me mail next year's conference materials to the hotel so that I did not have to carry all that through two airports.  That made things so much easier for me.  Thank you.  Even though I lost my voice, I still think my presentation went well.  Everyone loved all the pictures.  The grad student lunch box bash, which was the only other thing I helped with this year, was a great success thanks to you all!  I loved the wraps--as did everyone!  And I was thrilled to find an orange in my box.  I really needed it.  Also, your staff did a great job of getting the Retreat Room
looking just right for us, even down to the last detail of having our flyer posted smartly outside the door to the Retreat Room.  This was a very nice touch.  All you did is so very much appreciated and since I am the planner for next year's conference in Asheville, I was noticing all the nice things you and your staff did.  I just want to say thank you,
again, for all of it.  Also, if you have any tips for a novice conference organizer--that's me—don’t fail to let me know.  I'm happy to receive all suggestions, advice, and all cautionary tales.

Judy P, from Trip Advisor says:

I have been organizing conferences (50 to 350 people) for 21 years and during that time I've worked with all kinds of venues including several that had earned the title "Conference Center". I can honestly say that the King and Prince is the best I've ever worked with. I give them a detailed schedule of what is happening, when and where, the food and equipment we will need, the times we need it, and I never have to worry about it again. They are consummate professionals and a delight to work with.

The location is beautiful, the rooms clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and their food is very tasty. The hotel is right on the water, with many rooms having a full view of the water. The grounds are beautifully maintained, so even if your room doesn't face the water, chances are, you're still going to have a nice view.
The hotel staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. On the rare occasion that I have experienced a difficulty or change in plans, it has been taken care of quickly and graciously.
It is truly a delightful place to visit - for business or for pleasure.

I helped organize our first University of Tennessee Bioenergy Conference (Frontiers in Biorefining) at the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort in October. This was hands down one of the most beautiful places on the island. The staff was fantastic!!!! They were all extremely helpful and worked with us on a lot of tid bits that arised while we were there. We had only positive remarks from our conference attendee's regarding the hotel, location, staff and food. The hotel is central to three airports which was very useful especially for foreign attendees. The food that was supplied by K&P was outstanding!! Also, the location of the hotel was great because you can walk to downtown, shops and restaurants easily. There are so many options on the island that you can do for fun and leisure as well as business purposes. I absolutely LOVE the King and Prince and am sooo looking forward to going back next year!!!! We stayed a few days after the conference to really enjoy the hotel accommodations and what the island had to offer.

Restaurant

Rodney, from TripAdvisor says:

The King And Prince is an absolutely marvelous place to relax and enjoy as well as have business meetings. The staff is friendly, courteous and have the guests comfort and pleasure in mind at all times. The restaurant is top drawer, the servers are always pleasant, especially our favorite, Jackie. On Fridays there is a Seafood Buffet that is to die for. You name it, oysters, shrimp, crab, fish, beef, pasta, the finest Brunswick stew along with sumptuous desserts. I could write volumes about it but I don't think there's enough room.

Twenty nine years ago my husband and I stood in front of this motel and hoped that one day we would be able to afford to stay there. Today we still could not afford it if not for the special offered that weekend for the oceanfront rooms. By taking advantage of the special we enjoyed two nights complete with some of the best seafood I have eaten. I especially loved the Chili Lime Crab Salad. We expected the resort to be clean and beautiful considering the regular price of the rooms but the cleanliness far exceeded our expectations.

I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. We were in St. Simon's for a wedding, and I felt I needed to rest during the day. Sent the guys, my husband and son, to play golf. It was wonderful to kick back, watch old westerns on the great tv, while relaxing in the incredibly comfortable bed. The housekeeper was so pleasant, and the room service was incredible. Ordered a quesadilla and loved every mouth full. It came hot and delicious. It was a great day, and I was ready to enjoy the wedding. My husband even got me a virgin pina colada, which we enjoyed on the balcony. Wonderful! We will be back for sure! Thanks so much for making our stay so special!

We were pleasantly surprised with our weekend experience!! We would definitely recommend K&P!! Our room was clean, comfortable, bright, newly decorated. We could walk out our sliding glass door right to the beautiful pool area which had numerous lounge chairs available plus towels for pool/beach. Poolside food service was convenient and tasty. Room service personnel were prompt and courteous. Suggestion: Inform guests where refrigerator is located in room - it is a bit "hidden"...

We loved the hotel.  It was beautifully maintained and had a gorgeous setting.  It had one of the nicest indoor pools we have ever seen due to its warmth.  We also had a fantastic waitress in the restaurant who accurately took our whole order by memory and was very friendly.  I would love to see the indoor pool hours extended, if possible.  Thanks for the great experience.

My most recent trip to the K&P was another great stay - I have been traveling to this Georgia institution since the mid-60's as a small child with my family, and it has consistently held up its' standards of excellence. The staff is very accommodating, friendly, and attentive, the rooms extremely comfortable, and the setting lovely. One of my favorite activities is just lounging by the pool and enjoying the garden with a little libation from the bar.

Amanda S, from Facebook says:

I now have a treasured memory that I will always be able to share with my children and my new husband. After being told that we had to make up 3 of our snow days at school...all hopes of a winter break vacation with the family was out of the question. Then at the last minute my husband and I searched "indoor pools" and... we found The King and Prince Resort. We called and the staff was more than helpful in booking a room for the very next day. Upon arriving the staff continued to provide friendly service and hospitality. That was just the beginning - the indoor pool won over the kids while the beautiful facility, superb staff, friendly community, delicious breakfast buffet and grounds won me and my husband over. We are already planning our next visit to St. Simon's Island and can't think of anywhere else we would want to stay with our family and create more treasured memories.

Anonymous, from TripAdvisor says:

We stayed here for three nights. The room was clean and faced the ocean/pool. I heard other reviewers complain about the noise but I found it to be very quiet. This is one of the very few hotels on the island with the beach steps away. The buffet breakfast was worth the price and the staff was very attentive. I really liked the sand pit area on the side of the pool area. You could put a beach chair and have the convenience of the pool, but yet feel like you are on the beach. It is also a short bike or car ride to the village/pier where there was nice shopping and restaurants.

What a beautiful place, very clean, friendly people and surroundings very convenient.  Will visit again soon and the clay courts for tennis were lots of fun and very nice workout facilities and equipment.

What a lovely resort to stay at on St. Simons Island, especially during unpredictable March weather! Although it rained on two of the 3 days I stayed there, I could at least take advantage of their indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, both of which are located in the lobby, but the lobby is huge and beautifully decorated. The "made to order" omelets and the Georgia Peach Melba Strudel at the breakfast buffet were excellent. I stayed in Room 373 in the Oceanfront Building, and it was on a floor high enough to have a good and an unobstructed view of the ocean, even while lying in bed! There are sliding glass doors which open to a balcony, so I could hear the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline during the night. And the village is about a couple minutes drive away. Don't miss Southern Soul Food restaurant on corner of Demere and Frederica - great BBQ chicken and ribs (and collard greens)!

We love to come to Saint Simons Island and stay at the King and Prince. My husband and I had our honeymoon at the King and Prince 17 years ago and have brought our boys to vacation here also. The smell of the marshes, the beautiful moss draped oaks, the history, and the beauty of the ocean bring us back every time. ... The King and Prince have the beauty and relaxation of a great Southern Resort along with the hospitality that keep us returning to make family memories. I love the smiles on our children's faces when we come and stay as they play in the sand and dream....

My husband is from Georgia and he and his immediate family vacationed at the King and Prince when he was young . . . we returned most summers with his parents and siblings as a newly married couple, and through the years with new additions to the family - our three daughters. The resort is on the lovely island of St. Simon's is comfortably elegant, family friendly and provides activities for all - tennis, golf, workout room, beautiful pools, jacuzzis, fabulous food at the restaurants, and employees who are professional, personable and always willing to do everything they can to make a vacation exactly what a vacation should be - a time to relax, regenerate, and create special memories that last a lifetime.
