Jazz in the Park:

Each summer beginning Memorial Day weekend and lasting into September, Golden Isles Arts and Humanities (GIAHA) brings you six great concerts by the best local and regional jazz musicians. Planned for high tide Sundays (for maximum breeze and comfort!), the concerts draw hundreds of people to the lawn of St. Simons Island Lighthouse for one of the most pleasant and entertaining evenings you can spend in the Golden Isles.

All concerts are from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and free for kids under 6. Bring a chair or blanket, a summer picnic, your favorite beverage, and of course, all your friends for the high-tide event that’s become a Golden Isles tradition.

The final date is:  September 19.

Little Light Music

The St. Simons Island Lighthouse and Museum hosts its annual "Little Light Music" summer concert series on the lawn of the Lighthouse overlooking the beach waterfront.  All are encouraged to attend and bring picnic dinners and enjoy the live entertainment. The las concert is scheduled for: September 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  There is a fee of $10 per person -- children under 12 are free.  No reservations required.  Click to view the YouTube video here.

Annual Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Show

Pottery, jewelry, painting, sculpture, garden art and more.  The show begins at 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Postell Park, in the Pier Village, St. Simons Island, September 4-5.

Antique Show

Dealers from throughout the Southeast present a wide variety of antiques and collectibles that are on display. The show starts at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Postell Park, Pier Village, St. Simons Island, September 4-5.

Labor Day Weekend Catfish Festival Kingsland, GA

It is the largest festival in Southeast Georgia. There will be free concerts, arts and craft booths, southern fried and Cajun Catfish.  For information call the Kingsland Welcome Center at 912-729-5999 or visit www.visitkingsland.com

Third Annual Churn Off

If you like ice cream this is the place to be for the ice cream-making competition and tasting with live music begins at 4:00 p.m., at the Ashantilly Center, Darien.  Contestants should arrive at 3:00 p.m., September 5.   There is a fee for tasting.

Wild Georgia Shrimp Festival

Enjoy shrimp and grits prepared by local restaurants.  The festival is located on Jekyll Island and takes place Friday to Sunday September 17-19.  Friday Night is $3 Sample Night where you can taste sample from the vendors participating in the cooking competition.  There will also be lots of music and entertainment as well as arts and craft vendors in the Historic District.

Rhythm on the River

On Saturday Spetember 18 at 6 PM there will be an outdoor concert featureing "Touch of Gray" in Downtown Brunswick at Mary Ross Park.  Admission is $10 for adults and children under 12 are free.  Call 912-265-4032 for more information.

Golden Isles Speedway

The Golden Isles Speedway is the fastest dirt track in the South. The Fall 2010 racing season begins August 7.  The speedway is located 12 miles from Exit 29 off I-95.  There is also Go-Kart races on the Fridays before the actual races. The dates for 2010 are August 7, 21, September 4, 18, October 9, 15-16, 21-23, November 6, 13, 20, and December 4.

McGladrey Classic

New to the PGA Fall Tour Series and hosted by Davis Love III. The tournament will be October 4-10, 2010 at the Seaside course at Sea Island.  Showcasing the area's reach history and genuine hospitality, the tournament is sure to become a tradition for spectators and players alike.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Club and Safe Harbor. Click here for more information on tickets.

41st Annual Art and Sole Fine Arts Juried Festival
