You can wet your hook with pier fishing or crabbing in the Village, surf fishing along the beach, or with exciting in-shore river, or off-shore aboard one of the Island's fleet of charter fishing boats. Fishing along St. Simons Island is great year-round. Thousands of acres of salt marsh flats, miles of rivers and creeks, warm ocean waters, and an abundance of shrimp and baitfish make these waters some of the most productive fishing grounds anywhere. Deep sea, offshore, inshore and pier fishing are all available. Speckled Sea Trout, Red Bass, Flounder, Whiting, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Shark and Tarpon are a few of the species that visit local waters. |

Pier Fishing
The St. Simons Island Pier, in the nearby Village area, has been the focal point of social and recreational activity since the 19th century. Along with the fishing pier, the Village offers numerous restaurants and specialty shops. For the best tips on bait, rigs and what's biting, visit St. Simons Bait & Tackle, located adjacent to the St. Simons Pier.
There are additional fishing piers located on the Causeway leading to St. Simons Island, at Gascoigne Bluff and on Jekyll Island
