"The Robber Bridegroom", Musical Comedy Presented by the Island Players, May 10th through May 26th, 2013 - Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 3pm - Based on Eudora Welty's novella; $20 for adults. Casino Theatre, St. Simons Island. Click here for more information. 

St. Simons Antique Show - Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th, 9am to 5pm - Antique dealers from all over the Southeast showcase a vast array of antique merchandise including furniture, collectibles, primitives, jewelry, silver, glassware and more. Postell Park, St. Simons

Jazz in the Park Concert Series, Season Opener - Sunday, May 26th, 7 - 9pm - The Golden Isles Arts and Humanities hosts Jazz in the Park featuring some of the best local and regional jazz musicians. Planned for a high tide evening for maximum breeze and comfort, the concert brings residents and tourists alike to beautiful Neptune Park at the edge of the ocean on St. Simons Island for one of the most pleasant and entertaining evenings you can spend in the Golden Isles. Taps at Twilight - Monday, May 27th, 6:45 to 8:30pm. Annual Memorial Day observance with flyover and patriotic music, featuring speaker US Marine Major General Larry Taylor. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Simons Island. Neptune Park, St. Simons.

Georgia Sea Islands Festival - Saturday June 1, 11am to 6pm; Sunday June 2, 12 noon to 6pm.  Celebrating the 36th presentation of the Original Georgia Sea Islands Festival, highlighting the African American culture and heritage in Coastal Georgia. Entertainment will include jazz, dancers, gospel, old time spirituals and blues singers. Also featured will be Gullah Geechee cuisine, crafts, demonstrations and much more. Gascoigne Bluff, St. Simons Island.

Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Camps - A full range of fun, educational summer activities in theatre and filmmaking skills. All camps run Monday - Friday and meet from 9am to 4pm. Click here for enrollment form and more information.

Georgia Buffalo Ranch Family Fun Day - Saturday, June 8; 10am to 7pm. Please join us for a Family FUN Day at the Georgia Buffalo Ranch & Trading Post, 11495 Hwy 17, Townsend, GA. We will have something for everyone, so bring out the whole family. A bounce house and face painting for the kids! Bison cooking demonstrations. A Little Light Music Concert Series - Bring the family, friends, a picnic dinner and lawn chairs and relax with us on the St. Simons Lighthouse oceanfront grounds. $12 adults, children under 12 and Keepers of the Light admitted free. Golden Isles Kingfish Classic - Friday & Saturday, June 14 - 15; This is a spectator-friendly event so come on out to Gascoigne Bluff Park for food, drinks and fun. Watch the train of boats go out early in the mornings and greet them when they bring in their catch to be weighed. 206 Marina Dr., Morningstar Marina.

The St. Simons Island Antique Show - Saturday & Sunday, June 29-30; Featuring interesting and unusual items and other treasures from bygone eras. Antique dealers from all over the southeast present a vast array of fine and fun merchandise, including furniture, collectibles, primitives, jewelry, silver, glassware, etc. Postell Park, in the historic Pier Village area.

St. Simons Island 4th of July Celebration - Thursday, July 4, around 9pm; The annual fireworks display begins at about 9 p.m. at Neptune Park in Pier Village. Bring your lounge chairs, towels and plan to be their early to find parking.

St. Simons Island Fourth of July Sunshine Festival Arts & Crafts Show - Thursday - Sunday, July 4 - 7, 10am to 5pm. Sponsored by the Pier Village Association, the Sunshine Festival has been an island tradition for over 60 years. The family fun starts this year on Thursday, July 4th and runs through Sunday, July 7th. Pier Village, St. Simons.

End of Summer Weekend Arts & Crafts Market - Saturday & Sunday, August 24 & 25, 10am to 5pm. Postell Park, Pier Village, St. Simons.

Shrimp and Grits Festival - Friday, Saturday & Sunday, September 20-22. Set under the cover of live oaks in the Jekyll Island Historic Landmark District, the Jekyll Island Shrimp and Grits Festival provides a laid-back, relaxed Southern atmosphere complimentary of delicious coastal cuisine and great entertainment. Throughout the three-day festival, the theme is simple: taste, sip, enjoy. Festival-goers are treated to an array of shrimp and grits variations at food booths hosted by local restaurants while enjoying live music, arts and craft vendors, cooking demonstrations, cooking competitions, and a variety of family entertainment. St. Simons Island Food & Spirits Festival -  Friday -  Sunday, October 4 - 6. Celebrating the Bounty of Georgia’s Golden Isles while raising dollars and awareness for Hospice of the Golden Isles, the only community-based, non-profit hospice serving the area. Area restaurants, regional farmers and artisans will be the highlight of Saturday’s Tasting Tents, Farm Stand and Market. Gascoigne Bluff, St. Simons

CoastFest - Saturday, October 5, 10am to 4pm. With more than 70 environmental, educational, research and resource exhibitors from throughout the southeast providing interactive exhibits and displays, CoastFest highlights Georgia’s unique coastal environment in a family-friendly day of fun and education at the GA DNR Coastal Regional Headquarters near the Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick. Visitors of all ages can participate in activities from recycling to coastal weather … native plants to sea turtles ... water conservation to archeology… herpetology to geology … sharks to shrimp!!

44th Annual Glynn Art in the Park Fine Arts & Crafts Festival - Saturday & Sunday, October 12 & 13. The Glynn Art Association will host its premier show for fine arts and crafts under the live oak trees in Postell Park on St. Simons Island.

14th Annual Brunswick Rockin' Stewbilee - Saturday, October 26. Each year, cooking teams from near and far compete to see who has the best stew, competing for the Peoples' Choice and Judges' Award. Mary Ross Waterfront Park, Brunswick

The McGladrey Classic - November 4 - 10. PGA TOUR event played on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club on St. Simons Island, Georgia. The tournament is hosted by the Davis Love Foundation, which was established by PGA TOUR pro golfer Davis Love III for the purpose of contributing to the well-being and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. Year-Round Events

First Fridays - The first Friday of every month stroll the streets of downtown Brunswick. Listen to live music inside and outside, and sample food and drinks. Hours are from 5-8PM.

Second Sundays - 1pm to 7pm.  This popular family-friendly music event takes place on the second Sunday of each month at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends - locals and visitors alike - who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event!

Golden Isles Speedway - Waynesville, GA (about a 40-minute drive from the Resort) - a 4/10 mile, high-banked, D-shaped dirt track hosts a regular program featuring Limited Late Model, Super Street, Hobby Stock, E-Mod Modified, and Box Stock divisions, along with Spectator and Powder Puff races. Other special events, including the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing,' also highlight the busy schedule. Click here for more information.

“Shaggin’ at Ziggy’s!”-  Golden Isles Shag Club meets on Thursday nights at Ziggy Mahoney's with Beach Music DJ Wayne Bennett.  No cover charge.  Free Shag lessons with GISC members starting at 7 pm with DJ Wayne spinning the best in Beach, Boogie and Blues till 10pm.  Doors open at 6pm for food and beverages. 

The Island Players - The Island Players is a community theater company, performing in the Casino Building at the Pier Village.  They offer four main stage productions each year and a youth workshop in the summer. Call 912-638-0338 for more information or click here.
