The Island Players - The Island Players is a community theatre located in the Casino Building at the Pier Village. They offer four main stage productions each year and a youth workshop in the summer. The next show for the 2011/2012 season will be the comedy, Don't Mention My Name. The performance dates are March 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 & 24 at 8:00PM and March 11, 18 & 25 at 3:00PM. Brunswick Actors Theatre- Brunswick Actors Theatre is performing "Over My Dead Body." Final performance dates are February 4 & 5 on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday afternoon at 3pm. From February 25 to March 25 they will be performing "The Kitchen Witches." Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain. Reserved seating available. Desserts and coffee are included. It is $25 per person. Annual Southeast Georgia Health System Bridge Run- February 18 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. The Run is considered the toughest 5K run in the state of Georgia and was certified in 2009 by the United States Track & Field Association. Competitors will run across and return over the Sidney Lanier Bridge, the tallest span in Georgia at an impressive 480 feet at the apex and 7,000 feet long. The Coastal Symphony of Georgia- Four concerts throughout the year. All concerts start are on Mondays at 8 PM and are at the Glynn Academy Memorial Auditorium. The concerts dates are December 12, February 27 and April 30.
Brunswick Community Concerts- Concerts are at 8 PM in the Glynn Academy Memorial Auditorium. The Water Coolers (Musical Comedy) is on Thursday January 5, American Tenors (Vocal Trio) is Tuesday February 7, Carpe Diem (String Quartet) is Monday March 12, and Billy Dean (Country Music) is Thursday April 19. Movies at the Ritz- Historic Ritz Theatre in Brunswick. In January, February and early March, the Ritz will present screenings of several films for The Big Read related in style, theme, subject or in other ways to this year's featured novel,Dashiell Hammett's groundbreaking detective story, The Maltese Falcon. Peaches to the Beaches-March 9-10 from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM. In an effort to promote travel and boost the annual economic impact along the parkway Golden Isles Parkway Association organizes Georgia Longest Yard Sale. Thousands of visitors travel the parkway the second Friday and Saturday of March for the annual “Peaches to the Beaches” Yard Sale in search of antiques, collectibles, and hidden treasures.
