Year-Round Events and Activities

Weekend Entertainment at ECHO - Live local entertainment every Friday and Saturday night at ECHO, located inside The King and Prince Resort. Call our concierge at 912-638-3631, ext. 5109 for more information.

First Fridays - The first Friday of every month stroll the streets of downtown Brunswick. Listen to live music inside and outside, and sample food and drinks. Hours are from 5-8PM.

Second Sundays - 1pm to 7pm. This popular family-friendly music event takes place on the second Sunday of each month at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends - locals and visitors alike - who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event!

Art Classes with Glynn Art Association - Established in 1953, Glynn Art Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving as the community’s VISUAL ARTS CENTER.  It is supported by donations from members, visual artists and patrons. The Glynn Art Association’s mission is to promote and encourage creative expression within our community with an emphasis on the visual arts. The Glynn Art Gallery is located in the “heart” of St. Simons Island at 529 Beachview Drive in the quaint Pier Village on the south end of the Island.  Visit www.GlynnArt.org for information on art classes in various media - pottery, drawing, painting, photography, and more. Both children's and adult classes are available year round.

Golden Isles Speedway - Waynesville, GA (about a 40-minute drive from the Resort) - a 4/10 mile, high-banked, D-shaped dirt track hosts a regular program featuring Limited Late Model, Super Street, Hobby Stock, E-Mod Modified, and Box Stock divisions, along with Spectator and Powder Puff races. Other special events, including the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing,' also highlight the busy schedule. Click here for more information.

“Shaggin’ at Ziggy’s!”-  Golden Isles Shag Club meets on Thursday nights at Ziggy Mahoney's with Beach Music DJ Wayne Bennett. No cover charge. Free Shag lessons with GISC members starting at 7pm with DJ Wayne spinning the best in Beach, Boogie and Blues till 10pm. Doors open at 6pm for food and beverages. 

The Island Players - The Island Players is a community theater company, performing in the Casino Building at the Pier Village.  They offer four main stage productions each year and a youth workshop in the summer. Call 912-638-0338 for more information or click here.

Brunswick Actors' Theatre - The Brunswick Actors' Theatre (BAT) is a 113 seat theatre that is home to six Art Downtown productions a year. History Tours at Cannon's Point Preserve - The Coastal Georgia Historical Society has partnered with the St. Simons Land Trust to offer history tours of Cannon's Point Preserve November 18, 25; December 2, 5, 9, 12, 16 and 19. These personalized tours will provide an overview of the history of Cannon's Point with emphasis on the 19th century. Archaeology consultant Myrna Crook, who serves on the Cannon's Point History Task Force, will be leading tour groups limited to 16. Participants will receive an in-depth interpretation of this historic site, including the John Couper family and life at Cannon's Point during the plantation period.

The wild holiday adventures of a mouse, an elf, and a spunky little girl who just won't take no for an answer, on their quest to find out why Santa missed their house last year. A joyful tribute to the holiday season!

4th Annual Swing for Kids Golf Tournament-Sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Simons Island in partnership with Nalley Auto and the Davis Love Foundation. Proceeds benefit local children's charities in the Golden Isles.
Each 4-person team includes one youth golfer from the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Georgia.

Santa Claus at the Pier - Come see Santa Claus himself, in person at the Pier Village on St. Simons Island this Friday, November 21st from 6:00 until 9:00pm. He will be riding in on a carriage provided by Three Oaks Farm.
And while you're there, don't forget to take your picture with Santa too! Pictures will be taken on site and those interested in purchasing are encouraged to stop by the Darkroom to view their pictures and place their orders.

The 15th Annual St. Simons Land Trust Oyster Roast- Oysters, a low country boil, BBQ and other southern fare will be served and there will also be live entertainment by Bucktown Kickback. All proceeds from the 15th Annual Land Trust Oyster Roast benefit the St. Simons Land Trust and their mission: To preserve the island's natural and scenic character and enhance the quality of life in our island community for present and future generations.

Thanksgiving Week Family Concert- The evening will open with selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Sound of Music and close with the rousing William Tell Overture. The centerpiece of the concert will be Sergei Prokofiev's iconic Peter and the Wolf, narrated by Della Greenblatt, Ms. Georgia World International 2012. Children will be delighted as they are invited to follow the story of Peter and his friends, each character defined by a particular instrument and musical theme. The program will continue without intermission allowing an early evening for children.

Jingle Bells and Seashells -Enjoy a Sea Island Christmas at the Cassina Garden Club's 30th Annual Tour of Homes. The tour, Jingle Bells & Seashells, will showcase five Sea Island Homes – and The Cloister. 
Begin your tour with a visit to the “Best Bake Sale in the Southeast" at the Tabby Cabins at Gascoigne Bluff, then visit the new Market on the grounds that will offer Christmas decorations, new and recreated, all made by members of Cassina. Bake Sale and Market purchases will be held in Will Call while you enjoy the Tour.
Proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic tabby cabins on Gascoigne Bluff.

Benefit Weekend Concert | Featuring Dierks Bentley and Thomas Rhett - Wainwright Foundation inaugural Benefit Weekend winds up with a concert featuring country music superstars Dierks Bentley and Rhett Akins, with special guest Thomas Rhett.
This event will take place at the Glynn County Stadium in Brunswick. More details to come.
