First Fridays - The first Friday of every month stroll the streets of downtown Brunswick. Listen to live music inside and outside, and sample food and drinks. Hours are from 5-8PM.

Second Sundays - 1pm to 7pm. This popular family-friendly music event takes place on the second Sunday of each month at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends - locals and visitors alike - who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event!

Art Classes with Glynn Art Association - Established in 1953, Glynn Art Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving as the community’s VISUAL ARTS CENTER.  It is supported by donations from members, visual artists and patrons. The Glynn Art Association’s mission is to promote and encourage creative expression within our community with an emphasis on the visual arts. The Glynn Art Gallery is located in the “heart” of St. Simons Island at 529 Beachview Drive in the quaint Pier Village on the south end of the Island.  Visit www.GlynnArt.org for information on art classes in various media - pottery, drawing, painting, photography, and more. Both children's and adult classes are available year round.

Golden Isles Speedway - Waynesville, GA (about a 40-minute drive from the Resort) - a 4/10 mile, high-banked, D-shaped dirt track hosts a regular program featuring Limited Late Model, Super Street, Hobby Stock, E-Mod Modified, and Box Stock divisions, along with Spectator and Powder Puff races. Other special events, including the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing,' also highlight the busy schedule. Click here for more information.

“Shaggin’ at Ziggy’s!”-  Golden Isles Shag Club meets on Thursday nights at Ziggy Mahoney's with Beach Music DJ Wayne Bennett. No cover charge. Free Shag lessons with GISC members starting at 7pm with DJ Wayne spinning the best in Beach, Boogie and Blues till 10pm. Doors open at 6pm for food and beverages. 

The Island Players - The Island Players is a community theater company, performing in the Casino Building at the Pier Village.  They offer four main stage productions each year and a youth workshop in the summer. Call 912-638-0338 for more information or click here.

Brunswick Actors' Theatre - The Brunswick Actors' Theatre (BAT) is a 113 seat theatre that is home to six Art Downtown productions a year. October

Saint Simons Food & Spirits Festival- Celebrating the Bounty of Georgia’s Golden Isles while raising dollars and awareness for Hospice of the Golden Isles, the only community-based, non-profit hospice serving the area.  Area restaurants, regional farmers and artisans will be the highlight of Saturday’s Tasting Tents, Farm Stand and Market.

Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Walking Tours - Take an eerie journey back in time at Coastal Georgia’s most haunted rice plantation. As we stroll through Hofwyl-Broadfield’s moss laden Live Oak trees hear the stories of five generations of plantation owners and the African-Americans who worked here, in both slavery and freedom. There will be tales of recent ghost sightings, plantation folklore and the rich but tragic history of the Lowcountry rice fields.

CoastFest 2014: 20th Anniversary- With more than 70 environmental, educational, research, and resource exhibitors from throughout the southeast providing interactive exhibits and displays, the 20th annual CoastFest highlights Georgia’s unique coastal environment in a family-friendly day of fun and education.  Visitors of all ages can participate in activities from recycling to coastal weather … native plants to sea turtles ... water conservation to archeology… herpetology to geology … sharks to shrimp!

“Under the Oaks” Half Marathon Challenge- Saint Simons Christian School partners with the Jekyll Island Authority to sponsor the Under the Oaks Run- a 13.1 Half Marathon, 10K and 5K to be held on Columbus Day weekend, Saturday October 11, 2014 on the beautiful and scenic Jekyll Island.  The courses are USATF certified and all three races are USATF sanctioned so that both casual and competitive runners may enjoy each event.

Taste of the Vine 2014 - Join us for a fun filled evening featuring an array of wines selected by The Still and Winery retail wine shop and Mackay Cate of Georgia Crown Distributors. You can make a meal of the heavy Hors d’oeuvres and Desserts provided by the Coastal Pines Technical College Culinary team and dance by the St. Simons sound to the music of The StringRays. Brunswick Actors Theatre presents Walter Cronkite is Dead, by Joe Calarco - A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award

5th Annual St. Simons Island SUP Challenge- The 5th Annual St. Simons Island Stand Up Paddleboard Challenge is hosted by Davis Love III, Paddle & Putt - SUP & Surf. Event includes a 3-mile short course, 8-mile elite race, 4 person team relay race, and 13 and under, and dog on board race. 100% net proceeds donated to the Davis Love Foundation and there is a $12,000 guaranteed purse.

15th Annual Brunswick Rockin' Stewbilee- Get ready for the 15th annual Brunswick Rockin' Stewbilee at Mary Ross Waterfront Park. Each year, cooking teams from near and far compete to see who has the best stew, competing for the Peoples' Choice and Judges' Award. The day long event begins with the 5k Road Race followed by the Pet Supplies Plus Pooch Parade, Live Entertainment, The Kid's Junior Stewbee Central Fun Zone, Classic and Antique Car Show, Arts & Crafts displays and of course, sampling of the Best Brunswick Stew in the nation.

The McGladrey Classic 2014- The 2014 event is scheduled for October 20 - 26 at Sea Island Golf Club on the par 70 – 7,055 yard Seaside course which TOUR players ranked as their 15th favorite course to play.
In just its first four years, The McGladrey Classic has raised more than 1.8 million dollars for children and family charities.
The McGladrey Classic is a PGA TOUR event played on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club on St. Simons Island, Georgia. The tournament is hosted by the Davis Love Foundation which was established by PGA TOUR pro golfer Davis Love III for the purpose of contributing to the well-being and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. The McGladrey Classic is named for title sponsor McGladrey.

The McGladrey Classic | Darius Rucker "Live Under the Oaks"- Platinum-selling and 2014 Grammy Country Single of the Year winner Darius Rucker will perform in the Golden Isles this October as part of The McGladrey Classic, an Official PGA TOUR FedExCup Event hosted by Davis Love III. Rucker will entertain fans with a concert Wednesday evening, October 22 “Live Under the Oaks” at Sea Island Golf Club.
