The mission of Glynn Visual Arts is to promote the expression and appreciation of the visual arts. With a vision to be an open door to imagine, inspire and create, GVA offers classes in a variety of mediums including pottery, drawing, painting, jewelry, printmaking, photography, and more. The Tinted Tide is a paint-your-own pottery studio located here on the island offering walk-in painting all day, every day. Additionally, they host classes of various other art forms throughout the year. In the spring and summer they will be offering kids camps, in addition to monthly Ladies Nights where women can bring food, wine, and friends. Traveling through the scenic Marshes of Glynn south of St Simons Sound you will see abundant wildlife including dolphin, seagulls, and pelicans. Experience the life of a fisherman hands on. You will be able to see AND touch whatever is caught that day- sharks, crabs, fish, and all sorts of sea life. A paved network of winding bike paths (ideal for walking and jogging, too) is a great way to get to most anywhere on St. Simons Island. Bike rentals are available at Ocean Motion Surf Shop (just around the corner from the Resort) and elsewhere on the island. Infant seats and Trail-a-bikes available as well. Join the experienced local guides at Southeast Adventure Outfitters as you discover the many rivers, creeks and marshes kayaking St. Simons and Sea Islands and the Brunswick area. Tour the maritime forest on the south end of beautiful Jekyll Island while guiding along on an eco-friendly Segway® Personal Transporter (PT). To take part in the Jekyll Island Fun Tours on Segway® PTs, please contact the tour guide in advance to learn of availability and tour times. You must be a minimum of 16 years of age and weigh between 100-250 pounds to participate in a tour. Tour guests under 18 years of age should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visitors to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center explore interactive exhibits on sea turtle biology, conservation, rehabilitation, and the sea turtle's amazing journey from egg to adulthood. A large viewing window into the treatment area and an elevated walkway into the rehabilitation pavilion allow visitors to watch veterinary care of injured and ill turtles and learn more about the patients.
