Seared Tuna Salad Recipe

Here is the frequently-requested recipe for one of our favorite salads - perfect for lunch or dinner! 

Ingredients

  • 10oz Sushi grade #1 Ahi Tuna
  • 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi
  • ½ teaspoon sesame seed oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • 1 medium watermelon radish or radish of choice
  • 1oz micro greens or salad greens of choice
  • 2oz hoisin sauce

Preparation

Cut tuna into 4 equal shapes of your choice, sear on extremely high heat in sauté pan or iron skillet to temperature desired.

Remove and allow to cool. Once cool, slice each shape into 3 pieces (you will have 12 separate pieces at this point).

Puree avocados in blender, in bowl combine lemon juice, wasabi, sesame oil, add mixture to blender, and blend on high for 1 minute or until thoroughly mixed, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Julienne granny smith apple, place in water.

Shave radish super thin, place in ice water.

To serve, spread avocado puree as desired, place sliced tuna on puree, place radish throughout plate, disperse apples evenly over plate, add micro greens, drizzle hoisin sauce over greens. Enjoy!
