Family Vacation Activities
Where you see beach and swimming pools, you are sure to see children and their parents enjoying memorable days playing in the water and in the sand. One mile from the Resort is the Village area, with a waterfront park and accompanying children’s play area, the fishing pier, the historic lighthouse, and numerous shops to browse. There is also a National Monument and other historic sites to explore, a one-of-a-kind Shrimpin’ Cruise everyone will enjoy, and many more fun things to do. Resort Activities
Join the Activities Coordinator at The King and Prince for games and activities all summer long! Activities to include morning stretch, pool music, pool and beach games for children. The reader board in the lobby displays all times and locations of events. Group activities are available on request.
"More than just a camp; it's an adventure!" These camps are running from spring to fall for ages 6-14. The Spring Break Camp is a fishing adventure from 9AM to 1PM and the dates are April 4,5,6. There will also be an after school fishing adventure from 4 to 6PM on May 3, 10, 17, 24, August 30, September 6, 13, 20, 27 and October 4 & 11. The summer camps are Shark Fest (June 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26, July 9-10, 23-34, 30-31, August 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21) and Beach Camp (June 13-15, 27-29, July 11-13, 25-27, and August 8-10). Board the Lighthouse Trolley at the St. Simons Fishing Pier for a hauntingly historic and fun ghost tour of St. Simons. Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from March through Labor Day from 9:30 to 10:30 PM.
Traveling through the scenic Marshes of Glynn south of St Simons Sound you will see abundant wildlife including dolphin, seagulls, and pelicans. Experience the life of a fisherman and enjoy their tasty bounty. Not only will you see the many creatures that the crew brings up from the depth, but also touch whatever is caught that day; sharks, crabs, fish, and all sorts of sea life. A paved network of winding bike paths (ideal for walking and jogging, too) is a great way to get to most anywhere on St. Simons Island. Bike rentals are available at Ocean Motion Surf Shop (just around the corner from the Resort) and elsewhere on the island. Infant seats and Trail-a-bikes available as well. Join the experienced local guides at Southeast Adventure Outfitters as you discover the many rivers, creeks and marshes kayaking St. Simons and Sea Islands and the Brunswick area. They teach the skills needed to safely enjoy the sport as you watch the abundant wildlife in the marshes, rivers and on the beaches. Tours include 2-hour trips through the Marshes of Glynn, a 3-hour trip around St. Simons, and full day trips on the Altamaha and Satilla Rivers. Neptune Park Fun Zone - There's plenty to do for the entire family at Neptune Park. Cool off in the Fun Zone Pool, which is open daily throughout the summer until September 18th. Daily passes as well as season passes are available. Click to watch the YouTube video here. There is also an eighteen hole miniature golf course. For the young ones, there is a playground free of charge. The oceanfront park features picnic tables under stately oak trees, benches for relaxing by the sea, a fishing pier, and a bandstand where events are held throughout the year. Visitors to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center explore interactive exhibits on sea turtle biology, conservation, rehabilitation, and the sea turtle's amazing journey from egg to adulthood. A large viewing window into the treatment area and an elevated walkway into the rehabilitation pavilion allow visitors to watch veterinary care of injured and ill turtles and learn more about the patients. Admission fee varies with age; Hours as follows: December - February: Tues. - Sun. 9 am to 5 pm, closed Mondays; March - November: Tues. - Sun. 9 am to 5 pm, Mondays 10 am to 2 pm. The Resort may arrange trail rides for guests at a local private equestrian center. The center offers beach rides, natural history rides, and wooded trail rides.
