Premium Oceanfront Rooms: Tower Room

Jeffery R, from Guest Comment, says:

This was our first stay at the King and Prince. We were in room 303 in the tower. Ocean view from two different windows. Small balcony. We left the sliding door open so we could hear the ocean at night. The staff were great.

This was our first stay at the King & Prince, finding it via an internet search for something "on the beach" at St. Simons. Our room was one of the historic tower rooms on the 3rd floor with a princess balcony & another secondary corner window, which also has a direct view of the ocean. We loved this room with a comfortable, tall rice bed & little mini fridge to accommodate bringing your own snacks. The whole resort is so very relaxed & comfortable ( no unnecessary pretentiousness & fuss ) & the fact that it is a historic property, going back to the 30's/ 40's era made it even more interesting/ not your typical overpriced beachfront resort. We sipped frozen cocktails by the pool, enjoyed a delicious cheese tray, cooled off in the old style swings that are located right along the walkway of the beach. We slept with the sliding door open, to listen to the ocean all night as we slept. The breakfast buffet, with tables looking directly towards the ocean, was also a very nice experience. This resort was a terrific value, as they were offering a discount due to our booking for a Sunday night stay, but it seems to be a good value regardless. The location of this resort just can't be beat. We will definitely return.

We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted someplace special. We found it! We had a tower room for 3 nights of heaven. Found a bottle of champagne waiting on us when we arrived. The view was superb. We spent the first day on the beach, and had lunch at the poolside grill. Wonderful food and we both had mojitoes, mine non-alcoholic, but husband said they were both the same, really good! We had two delightful dinners and all our breakfasts in the King’s Tavern, the onsite restaurant. Not only did they have great food, but the Oceanside views were grand. The staff was one of the most courteous and professional I have had the pleasure to find, since staying at a higher end Disney World resort! From check in and out to dining room staff, beach folks all the way to housekeeping. Even the gift shop was a delight. Wish we could have stayed longer, and would definitely go back!

The King & Prince Hotel was a wonderful place to stay for my first trip to St. Simons Island. We stayed in one of the Tower Rooms on the third floor of the Historic Building in the hotel complex. The room decor was very attractive, and the wall art featured vintage photos from the hotel archives. There was even a small "Juliet" balcony, where we could step out and look down the beach and onto the hotel grounds. The hotel staff were very attentive and polite. The proximity to the beach cannot be beat, and the card key system for the hotel/parking/beach access gates makes guests feel very secure. We were lucky to visit on a March weekend with temperatures in the low 70's. Spring was in the air, and there was lots of activity on the beach. We had a perfect romantic weekend--thank you King & Prince!!

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful night at the K&P on Saturday night. Gorgeous room-very romantic with the ocean breeze & sounds coming through the open door of our balcony. We highly recommend room 301! What a view!
